What's the strangest thing you have ever seen in the gym

I have been around the iron for many years and over that time I have seen and done lots of crazy things in various clubs throught the country.
Back when I was a trainer the wife and I used to go to the club for a quickie on some of the weight benches. This is highly addictive and as far as I know there is not a 12 step program to get you back on track, so think before you do it. On the other hand if you must, I reccomend the decline bench press. I have a friend that bought one just for home use.
Getting back to my original post. Yesterday I saw this skinny kid load up the bar on the bench press with and amazing 85 pounds. I didn't notice but he had lifting straps on his hands. While laying vertical on the bench, he used his left hand to help his right hand wrap the strap around the bar. Then he spent about 5 minutes trying to wrap the other strap around the bar using only his fingers.
This leads to several questions and coments. First, is this the dumbest guy on planet?
Second, I want to party with the guy that was able to talk this rube into doing it that way. That would have to be a long strange trip.
Third, does this kid know something I don't know, such as gravity is about to fail and he was merely taking precautions so that the bar would not float up to the cieling..

in H.S. I also used my home bench for other purposes--now it's used with a towel over the pads after my little bros found out

anyways- one thing I have seen is people "reading" while doing cardio.....i've seen people lift massive amounts of weight 1 or 2 inches, and they have the nerve to bother someone else for a spot...

Good timing with this thread...today I saw a woman talking on her cell phone while doing machine crunches. I've never seen less effort put into a crunch in my life.

But when you disarm them, you at once offend them by showing that you distrust them, either for cowardice or for want of loyalty, and either of these opinions breeds hatred against you.

You should see the people in my gym, they walk around like the cast from Night of the Living Dead
