    Question Question for the Canadians.

Do your feelings toward the USA mirror those of the people in this article? I'm not trying to stir shit, just want to hear how y'all feel. It's obvious the USA has an image problem.

For those of us that may become offended by any remarks made. Please be mature and let it slide.

The Canadians are not very useful. Canada is irrelevant, cold, and the weather isn't very good. The economy stinks, taxes are too high, and they have the descendants of the French to deal with.

Because of their international irrelevancy, they can feign a sense of "moral superiority" that they often display.

I used to see it when I worked in Bellingham, WA near the Canadian border. I had to deal with the Canadian shoppers everyday.

The US had a horrible thing happen on 9/11. Like most of the rest of the world, I was right there with my sympathy and moral support.

    Then, let me see:
They commandeered the media to moan and beat their breasts as though they were the only nation ever to suffer such a hideous and damaging attack. Um, welcome to the rest of the world, guys. Do the Irish or the Israelis play drama queen on the international stage every time some fuckwad sets an explosive? No. It was awful, yes, but there comes a time to get over it.

They used this Dreadful, Unprecedented in World History, Ghastly Attack as justification to pursue a -- watch closely now -- completely unrelated grudge war which has, by all reports, been secretly brewing in White House back rooms since Nixon, if not before.

They used their status as Wounded Drama Queens (see above) and Undisputed Biggest World Power to attempt to bully and/or blackmail all other world powers into joining them on the playground to stomp their target in said war. Any world power who refused to knuckle under was libelled and badmouthed both in public -- by your politicians and the media -- and on the streets by your citizens.

When the World Trade Centres were blitzed, my fellow Americans, Canada was right there for you. Mere months later, when we refused to go beat up on Iraqis for you, friends of mine were refused service by gas stations along several hundred miles of your highways because of their Canadian plates.

I don't know if you're evil, but you're certainly doing your best to look like bullying oafs, living by the rather primitive credo of Might makes Right at the expense of all others.

I don't really know what to say to this thread. I am a happy (for the most part), healthy Canadian who pays way too many taxes. I mean come on, when I get a raise in one hand and a notice that my taxes have increased in the other, my pay stub tells me that my take-home $ are less than they were before. I don't know that Canada is actually better than the US; I think it's about the same. One thing I find that the US does more than we do is that any news or tragedy is more visible, but isn't that because the US has more media sources than we do? Let's face it, no?

I haven't spent enough time in the US to actually see for myself if it's better than Canada, except to know that the weather is more appealing to me.

Well, this was about 3 years ago. Back then I still smoked & had McD's. Don't remember which province it was. I think it might have been one of the French ones.

I love Canada. Where else can I go into a McDonalds, get a Big Mac Meal, hand them a crisp, American, $20 bill, and get $22 Canadian back.

Their beer and titties are pretty good too.

I can see why we would be seen as bullies, for the most part we are. But in the same respect, we have saved some peoples' ass on many an occassion. My only fear is that every Big Empire has eventually fallen so the future isn't so bright.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Whenever I ask a fellow Canuck why they hate Americans I rarely get more than a mumbled, stereotyped response about how Americans are stupid and ignorant. I think it boils down to a bit of penis envy for the most part.

This sums up my Canadian experience!

...Oh and Quebec is replete with wanna-be French who hate Americans.

I have nothing more to contribute.
But when you disarm them, you at once offend them by showing that you distrust them, either for cowardice or for want of loyalty, and either of these opinions breeds hatred against you.

I am getting pretty tired of the cliche wrestling angles. Thats why i watch it less and less. Canada VS USA, someone is having a baby, pick on the handicap dude, lady valet cheats on her wrestler boyfried...the only angle that was worth seeing was the battle of the wrestling brands.

Hey, only reason I watch WWE is for 2 reasons:

    1) The Rock might be on

    2) HBK might be on.

The rest just suck becuse of those repeated angles. Especialy Canada VS USA.
