Uhhh, last I checked Bush was president when it happened, and he had substantial information to stop the attacks, regardless of Clinton's mistakes, of which there were many.

I believe just prior to 9/11 Bush shot down advice to form a division of Homeland Security. I believe after 9/11 he changed his mind. I guess according to GOP criteria, this could be considered flip-flopping on an issue.

Where did you get that one? Post your source, or is this Fahrenheit 9/11 redux? Bush was president when it happened. He had been in office 9 months. And the 8 years prior to that Bill & Bull were in office, in the critical time Al Qaeda used to infiltrate the US these two glorified shitkickers did nothing to protect Americans, either here or abroad. The original WTC attack? The Africa embassy bombings? The Khobar towers? The interrupted Millennium attacks? The intended bombing of the USS Sullivan's? The USS Cole attack? The fiasco in Somalia? Who was president then?

It could be argued that Bush SR first put the troops in Somalia. But he put in a huge contingent of US marines with heavy support equipment, and, he gave strict orders they were there on a humanitarian mission and weren't to take sides. Bill & Bull took over, took out the jarheads, put in a small US army & Delta force, repeatedly denied the commanders requests for C-130 spectres and armor,AND, issued new orders they were to attack the warlord Aideed. Klinton took these actions at the urging of UN sec gen Butros Gali and forced those troops of our to depend on the UN contingent in Somalia for support. Klinton basically gave the UN command of our Somalia contingent. His reasons for denying them additional resources was he wanted to "keep the mission low profile".

Of course we now know it was Al Qaeda providing much of the weapons, and many fighters, for the Somalian war lords to fight Americans. Its historical fact that Klinton shrank from attacking Al Qaeda after every attack, indeed after so much evidence had been accumulated against them. He nixed a plan to capture Bin Laden, argued over the legality of killing him with his gaggle of lawyers,"eventually deciding it was illegal to assassinate him". With all his personal scams, pussy hunts, coverups, and bullshit the country never did truly focus on the threat. Heres a a-typical reason for Klinton not attacking Al Qaeda """That made it politically impossible for Clinton to strike-especially given the upcoming election and his own lack of credibility on national security. "If we had done anything, say, two weeks before the election," says a former senior Clinton aide, "we'd be accused of helping Al Gore.""""

"" Accused of helping Al Gore""??? This piece of shit is more worried about his public image then he is about the defense of the US and its citizens. I saw it time and time again during his administration, the time where "political correctness" became gospel.

Heres more. Even liberal Time magazine cant avoid putting the blame on Klintonhttp://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,333835,00.html. Read it if you want, investigate on your own if you want. I doubt many of you will, its much easier to watch fatso Moores Fahrenheit movie then it is to investigate actual historical fact. Especially when it reinforces your own political leanings, and the truth be damned..............take care............Rich

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of a White House Press Briefing. I was apparently wrong, it was actually AFTER 9/11 that he stated this, not before. Still flip-flopping according to GOP standards.

Former press secretary Ari Fleischer said Bush told Congress "there does not need to be a Cabinet-level Office of Homeland Security," and Tom Ridge, then director of the non-agency White House Office of Homeland Security, said "I'd probably recommend that he veto" any bill creating a new agency. [White House Press Briefing, 10/24/01; National Journal, 6/5/02; George W. Bush, 11/19/02]

The 9/11 operatives, and al qaeda, should have been attacked and/or arrested , the attack interrupted, a hundred times before 9/11/2001. All this before there was any Homeland Security office. There were little yellow arrows pointing to the WTC with a sign,"al qaeda attacking here", that Bill & Bulls stupid Justice Dept. couldnt figure out.

Be that as it may there is no substitute, and no exuse for not doing, for sending our military to foreign shores to murder these terrorists. While there is blame for both administrations there is 10X the blame for Bill & Bull, and their little cadre of party faithful. Now Klinton-ll, and the Hienz Princess, say they want to integrate America back into the world community and the UN. They want to "build a consensus". Well it was this "consensus" that landed us in this pile of shit in the first place. The "concensus minded" bunch of shitkicker lawyers in Bill & Bulls admin were the ones so fearful of "world opinion" that they declined to attack al qaeda time and time again. Allowing them to get stronger, to get more organized, to attack us again and again,AND,to infiltrate America while Americans are steering transfixed into their TVs watching their President say a blow job aint sex.

Yeah thats what we need alright, a "world consensus".hahah...........take care...........Rich

It is very disrespectufl to spell the former president's name incorrectly. It is alright to refer to his wife in any way you see fit, however.

You shouldn't be talking like that,
you need JESUS in your life.

I imagine Jesus wouldn't have taken to Bush either considering he is much like Clinton, a drug using, draft dodging liar.

Rich you overlook one M*A*J*O*R fact. Your hatred for the demo’s and your love for the republicans disables you from making an intelligent response. You can have a strong intellect but if every political tid-bit you come across is stored and then retrieved in a biased manor than you can "know" all the history there is and still not have an intelligent response. You form all your thoughts on how to blame “Klint” and refuse to accept that maybe, just maybe, Bush mighta bugered this one up. Step off of the party line. I have and I am a more qualified voter now than I ever was as a strict republican.

You can be a Conservative and vote the issues with respect to thier importance and not actually end up voting for the right.
