    Embarassing? Yes

A metaphor for Kerry's rebirth as President? Maybe.

Actually, I see Bush getting slaughtered in the debates. In the absence of debates I think he would win. I do not see him fairing well in the debates as an incumbent, he has alot of questions to answer and I don't see him doing that.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

If Bush is relaxed I think he would be the favorite in any debate. I see Kerry getting caught having to explain many of his flip-flops. If Bush is uptight and stiff, it won't be pretty for him.

Are there any dates set on the debates?

I found this, I guess they are set pretty far out. All are in battleground states.

    First presidential debate:
    University of Miami
    Coral Gables, FL
    Thursday, September 30

    Vice presidential debate:
    Case Western Reserve University
    Cleveland, OH
    Tuesday, October 5

    Second presidential debate:
    Washington University in St. Louis
    St. Louis, MO
    Friday, October 8

    Third presidential debate:
    Arizona State University
    Tempe, AZ
    Wednesday, October 13

I agree, it will depend on who is most relaxed. One thing you can say about Bush is that he generally is relaxed, but I think the debates might get to him, but who knows.

The presidential debates could go either way. For the first time, I'm more interested in the V.P. debates. I think Cheney's gonna slaughter Edwards. Too bad the V.P. debates mean little to nothing in the end.
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???
