He's a public servant, he reflects the way the majority of our nation is feeling and at least he knows when he has made a mistake and can admit to it and not try to ignore it. I think what this shows is that he learns and makes new decisions based on what he has learned rather than locking his mind on one track. He is much more diplomatic and doesn't have that air of a cocky bullheaded macho know-it-all southerner.

Oh I guess thats one way to look at it. That is the "Democrat way", that of "victimhood". Yaknow this guy wouldn't bother me as much if he had some moral fiber and stuck to his guns on issues, even if they were ones I disagreed with. But his entire life, from when he emerged from his 4 months in Vietnam, has been one big phoney line of horseshit. Heres a guy whos lust for power is so great he'll do anything, say anything, change his mind on anything, just to "get there". Even his phony Vietnam service was one big lie.

And Vietnam vets are speaking out against him too, no matter how many vets in wheelchairs he wheels around the stage with him.

And the reason hes going to lose is because there really is a Silent America that just plain doesn't trust him. The GOP has been just waiting to go on the attack. His Vietnam flim-flam will be next. Now this phony is going out of his way to win over hunters, sportsmen, and gun owners with his teary eyed stories of his youth and going out squirrel hunting in the back 40. Bush and Kerry are both machine politicians. There are some differences between, but many similarities.

What do either of them have in common with us?

    I couldnt agree more!

    Here's what happened:

He was a punk kid, that was forced into the military b/c his parents were sick of him

Then once he was there he just did whatever he could to save his own ass

and by some twist of fate, he was in the right place at the right time, and did a couple of "good deeds"

Now he uses this a some big heroic feat, that no one else can even compare to or soemthing

i could go kill a couple of iraqis and have done just as much if not more than him, he's just a coward that hides behind his fortunes

    I doubt it.

Kerry is a lying POS. I, for one, believe that the swift boat guys in the add are telling the truth (that he's a liar).

There is no denying that Kerry NEVER recieved life threatening injuries while in battle.
He can throw his purple hearts and bronze star around all he likes, but that still doesn't make him a hero. (He supposedly threw those medals away, correct? That should nullify his claim to them, IMHO)

Here's a good one for you guys that hate Kerry so much:

Why doesn't the left wing liberal media make a huge issue about George Bush not being at his Alabama national guard unit?

I mean, if he can send our troops off to war, why didn't he go himself??
Hmmm?? We should ask if he would send his daughters to Iraq for extended tours of duty...

I mean, really, if the media was so biased, you would think they would make a huge issue about this. But no, that's because Kerry actually WENT TO VIETNAM. !!!

And why doesn't the media attack Bush about the budget deficit??? I mean, lets be real here people!! Clinton actually produced surpluses, and now we have deficits that would have made the Gipper proud!!
If Clinton ran those kind of deficits they would have crucified him for sure!

That is too much power for one stupid man.

The political system is a mess. Too much trying to cater to special interest groups and not the will of the people. I still think four more years of Bush is the better option than having Scary Kerry in office.

Kerry said Bush made his case for war based on at least two pieces of U.S. intelligence that now appear to be wrong that Iraq sought nuclear material from Africa and that Saddam's regime had aerial weapons capable of attacking the United States with biological material.

Bush volunteered for the National Guard to avoid going to Vietnam. It's obvious that he has no problems having others fight for him, but if asked to fight himself he'd cower on the sidelines.

Ask any veteran how many rich kids they served with? Especially in some shithole bush war liked Vietnam. In fact, other then the occasionaly rich kid looking for excitment, how many rich kids have actually fought thruout human history? Even under communism, which had plenty of rich people and rich kids, very few ever got within rifle range of the enemy. Its a simple fact. Rich kids dont often go to war. Wars are basically fought by the children of the lower and lower/middle class.

The big difference is Bush aint coming on like a war hero, Kerry is! Kerry ducked out early too, both in Vietnam and his normal tour of service. His actions that won him the Silver Star are pretty incredable alright. Let me see if I have it right. "They were under fire from shore, at which time the .50 gunner on the boat shot an enemy on shore. LT Kerry ran the boat onto the beach and shot the same enemy again with his M-16, killing him".
LT Kerrys actions that day, and his putting himself and his boat in jeopardy, were rewarded with one of the highest medals for heroism we have.............right?

Well heres the problem with all that. First by beaching his boat he placed himself, hiscrew, and his boat, at great risk. And violated regulations! A Swift boats best defense was its mobility, the last thing you want to do when under fire is beach your boat. A stationary target is much easier to hit then a moving one, and besides, when you beach you make it easy for an enemy to overrun you and take your boat, hit you with mortars...ect LT Kerry should have been disciplined instead of being awarded a medal.

Then how heroic is it to finish off a helpless enemy already riddled with .50 rounds. Ever shoot a Browning .50? I have! Its an overpowering weapon. Its so powerful its not even classified as anti-personal. The thing could decimate a herd of elephants in seconds, it could knock down any aircraft ever made. In fact the quad-50s of the Iraqis were the most feared AA of the entire Gulf war. They made us change our airfield bombing tactics and were responsable for a number of allied planes shot down. Now how hard is it to jump off a boat and put one last bullet thru the head of a helpless enemy thats already been hit by a ma deuce?

Of all his shipmates, who are not touring the country with an eye towards spots in his administration, only one had admitted to Kerry simply finishing off a wounded enemy. His original version of the account should have had Kerry tried for a war crime. Of course now he says he was misqouted. Now hes one of the ones trotting about calling Kerry the greatest soldier who ever lived.

Its obvious Kerry used the war to flim-flam a bunch of medals for a future resume. He already had decided on a course of politics and he knew such bullshit would be good for him later on. In this he wasnt alone, Vietnam was an unpopular war and the Military its ownself used medals to prop up morale. Vietnam was a medal give away, a lot of people got them who shouldnt have. It wasnt un-usual to use the buddy system to get yourself, and your mates, buckets of medals.

And Kerry ducking out after 4 months, and useing scratches he flim-flammed into P-Hearts, while disturbing isnt the most disturbing thing about this guy. What is most disturbing is his words and actions after he returned stateside. The guy sold out his comrades in arms and gave aid and comfort to the enemy. Its one thing for a Vietnam vet to have joined VV against the war. It was a shitty war from A to Z, but Kerry saw a beneficial political gain from being a leader of this organization, and even becoming a radical. Here read it yourself, I am sicked by this bastard and cant go on http://www.usvetdsp.com/story10.htm

That was made an issue, remember? Evidently nothing much to it, since the media dropped it's coverage of this issue. You can only beat a dead horse for so long.

I mean, really, if the media was so biased, you would think they would make a huge issue about this. But no, that's because Kerry actually WENT TO VIETNAM. !!!
Yeah he went. He trumped up his actions to get some medals. Notice that the guy that treated him for one of the wounds is saying recieving a medal for it was BS, and a doctor that treated him believed that one of his other wounds was probably "self inflicted". If true, that speaks volumes about the mans integrity. Also note, It's not the Bush camp hammering Kerry about his service in vietnam. It's private groups, just like the attacks from the liberals on Bush.

And why doesn't the media attack Bush about the budget deficit??? I mean, lets be real here people!! Clinton actually produced surpluses, and now we have deficits that would have made the Gipper proud!!
What caused the deficits? Isn't the war in Afghanistan and Iraq the main reason? Some will point to the tax cuts, but the tax cuts helped to revive the economy. A economy that started it's downhill turn before Bush ever took office. So, I guess we have to blame the man in office at the time, right? That was Clinton.

If Clinton ran those kind of deficits they would have crucified him for sure!
He was crucified. He was impeached, remember? Not for his financial policies, but because HE LIED UNDER OATH, he lied to Congress, and lied to the american people. He's lucky they didn't remove him from office.

That is too much power for one stupid man.
I love it when people say Bush is stupid. Nevermind that his IQ is higher than most of those that make such statements.

Say what you want about Bush. At least he is consistent in his views. Kerry, on the other hand, is going to tell you whatever it is you want to hear, and do the opposite. LOOK at his voting record. He doesn't stand for anything.

    Obviosly America right?
    709,000 REGULAR (ACTIVE DUTY) PERSONNEL.
    293,000 RESERVE TROOPS.
    EIGHT STANDING ARMY DIVISIONS.
20 AIR FORCE AND NAVY AIR WINGS WITH 2,000 COMBAT AIRCRAFT.
Its true Klinton reduced our standing Military, and probably more so then a re-elected Bush would have. But many of these cuts were planned and a benefit of the cold war being over.
    232 STRATEGIC BOMBERS.
19 STRATEGIC BALLISTIC MISSILE SUBMARINES WITH 3,114 NUCLEAR
This is off the top of my head by any bomber cuts were older B-52s and they were elminated due to START weapons treaties with the Russian. We still have over 50 B-52G's, almost 100 B1b's, and over 20 B-2s. Since carpets bombing cities isnt an option anymore we have enohg bomber assets to make an enemy uncomfortable. Tho yes, our numbers are actually to low. But with modern weapons one B1b in 2004 is more strategicaly lethal then 100 B-17s in WW-ll. What used to take a squadron now takes one bomb. Hell we can take out a bridge from 1,000 miles away nowdays without even risking a bomber, simply by targeting it with a Tomohawk from a submarine. Yes our bomber numbers are low but that doesnt tell the full story. The next bomber we have is going to be able to fly 7,000 mph and deliver a missile that flies as fast. There will be no defense against it because it will be stealth and will actually skip in and out of the atmosphere.
    WARHEADS ON 232 MISSILES.

Again START agreements and retirment of older systems.
    500 ICBMs WITH 1,950 WARHEADS.
ICBMs have become dinosaurs of an older time. Weve gotten rid of our Titans but still have our MX. 50 of them if I remember right, and each has 10 warheads that blow at 300 kt. We have over 500 Minuteman-lll missiles and they will be modernized to M-lV this decade. They are capable of delivering 3 warheads tho are only loaded with 1 due to START. Thats where the big reductions have come from, the downloading of our Minuteman force. I will add that the fewer nukes the world has the safer we all are. AS LONG as America has an effective deterrant that is. And we do have one, the rest of the world is scared shitless of our nuclear forces.
    FOUR AIRCRAFT CARRIERS

Retirement of older carriers account for this. If I remember right we retired the last of the Essex Class ,Forestal class and Kitty Hawk class. These ships are ,however ,in active reserve. We still have 12 active carriers with the last of the Nimitz class to be delivered in 4 years.
AND 121 SURFACE COMBAT SHIPS AND SUBMARINES
Again there has been a turnover due to force modernization and of course the Peace dividend. We now have, or shortly will have, 14 Ohio class SLBMs capable of delivering D-5 missiles, 24 per sub, against the enemy. Each of these missiles is capable of delivering up to 12 nukes that blow at 450 kt "Hiroshima was 16kt". The 4 oldest Ohios we are converting to Tomahawk launch platforms, as well as seal and mini-sub. Each of these Ohios will have the capability to launch over 150 of the new Tactical Tomohawk against enemy targets. Of course the tomahawk has a nuclear capability, it can be set to blow at 150kt or 5 kt. We dont load nukes on them due to START agreements but the warheads are still in active inventory.
The surface navy is much smaller then it was during Gulf-l. But it is more modern and more lethal. The Spruance class of missile cruiser is being retired and will be replaced, almost enitrely, by the A Burke class destroyer. This ship is the most lethal, technologicaly advanced, ship to ever put to sea. Were going to end up with 61 of them along with about 30 Perry class frigates. The DD(X) class will be coming on-line by the end of the decade. We are replaceing LA class attack subs with Seawolf and Virginia class subs. there were only a few Seawolfs built but we are going to build 30 Virginias and after that the FAS program.

PLUS ALL THE SUPPORT BASES, SHIPYARDS, AND LOGISTICAL ASSETS
NEEDED TO SUSTAIN SUCH A NAVAL FORCE.
    IS THIS COUNTRY:
    RUSSIA? NO
    CHINA? NO
    GREAT BRITAIN? NO
    FRANCE? WRONG AGAIN
    MUST BE USA? STILL WRONG
    GIVE UP?
THESE ARE THE AMERICAN MILITARY FORCES
THAT WERE ELIMINATED DURING THE ADMINISTRATION OF BILL
    CLINTON AND AL GORE.
    IMAGINE WHAT A JOHN KERRY

ADMINISTRATION WOULD LOOK LIKE CONSIDERING HIS 20 YEAR
VOTING RECORD AGAINST DEFENSE APPROPRIATIONS STARTING
WITH HIS OPPOSITION TO RONALD REAGAN'S SDI INITIATIVE
[STAR WARS] WHICH LED TO THE DEMISE OF THE SOVIET UNION.

Just think about this with an open mind. This is factual
information and could very well happen again if we don't get our
    act together.
Again while I dont like the Klintons, and do think they they ran our military down, and did! put America in danger with their bullshit. I dont believe these numbers tell the full story about the US Military. What bothers me most was their failure to use what we had instead of reductions. That and they gave the UN to much say in when,if, and where it would be used. I also feel there is to much "old guard" in power that still wants a military force structure designed for a cold war reality. We need one thats designed for the future wars were actually going to have to fight.

I think putting Kerry in will run the military down even more. Thats almost an automatic when a Democrat gets in. But its also important to remember that no country on Earth could beat us in a conventional fight. And you'd have to be mad to attack America with nukes, at least a country would.............take care..........Rich

    [QUOTE=Stickboy]

I love it when people say Bush is stupid. Nevermind that his IQ is higher than most of those that make such statements.

    [QUOTE]

I would seriously like to know what his IQ is, do you know for a fact what it is?
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

    Bush's SAT score was 1206 (566 Verbal, 640 Math).

This web page offers a theoretical conversion of pre-1974 SAT scores to IQ:
    http://members.shaw.ca/delajara/Pre1974SAT.html

Based on that conversion chart, Bush's IQ would be about 129

Those of you who of age in the 80's probably remember the same crap about Reagans intelligance. Well he was smart enough to win the cold war and win two terms. He was the most impacting president since FDR so who gets the last laugh? It was the same thing with Gerald Ford. Remember the golf balls? Same thing with Nixon, same thing with every Republican president thats been in since the Liberal revolution. Thats one of the trademarks of these fucking liberals, they think their smarter then anyone else. Give em about 20 years cloistered in some leftist collegiate campus, where they can learn about flag burning and bomb making, and they think they are smarter then God.

The problem is when it comes to practical intelligance they dont know if their asses are punched or drilled. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the post 9/11 world. If you overthink it, and start talking like a fucking lawyer, you will put the country at great risk. Now is not the time for great thinkers ; Now is the time for great actors. You dont need an IQ of 400 to realize were going to have to stomp the guts out of our enemy and any country that supports them.

And its a good thing you dont need to be overly bright to be president. Because John Kerry aint even smart enough to be a good liar. At least Billy Klinton made it almost to the end of his 1st term till everyone figured out he was full of shit. Thats all we need right now is great thinkers, great talkers, great lawyers, and classroom geniuses. Thats how we got into this mess in the first place.........take care...........................Rich

Yeah, we need to build militant clones and run around nude practicing sword play. It's all about beating the shit out of pygmy countries and making sure they know that America can whoop their ass. Books should be used as target practice, we should see how deep a 50 cal will penetrate a stack of encyclopedias. Diplomacy is overrated, I say War is the answer brothers shock and awe, scare and terrorize the world and let them feel the hot breath of America cause we rule the world and they can only dream of holding such power. We got Iraq and Afghanistan lets just go ahead and pinch that pimple Iran while we're at it, wait we're gonna need more troops throw your condoms away America and start fucking your brains out we need to supply faster than we are losing them. Drop that No Child Left Behind shit and implement the Every Child Deserves a Rifle act they gotta start early, and the purple dinosaur has to go we need a fire breathing dragon with sharp fangs and claws barking orders at our toddlers so that when they get into middle school and start their ass hardening classes they won't cry as loud.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
