It's an interesting blog. It's an average soldiers life, and that should make some think about what military service is about (the day in, day out stuff).

The Military has a lot of control over what the public is allowed access to.

I thought the media was OVER-reporting the deaths, at least that is what all the goobs are saying.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

^ I meant that the media has been very careful about what is reported. Trying to censor the pictures of coffins, and keeping reporters away from many things.

Pictures of the coffins. Why do you think that was put in place?

Then again, you won't mind if the media comes in and takes pictures of your loved one's funeral and whatnot right?

Reporter's are denied access to certain things for one reason. The bastards can't keep their mouth shut, even if they know by reporting it, they are going to get people killed, they still spill it. After all, what's a little blood when you have the scoop.

I seewhere you are coming from. On the other hand, i see no problem with showing a pic of the caskets. I definitely do see the media being a major problem, though.

This might probly be for the loved ones of those who died in action. Everyone knows it...however there may be times when grief has overtaken the pride.
I notice that , as he said, most of the soldiers are not against the war...they fear of death but they do their job anyway.

I think it was a bad idea to put him behind the .50. They should choose veterans who've taken heavy fire before; and can keep themselves better composed.. You cant just be a hard ass; it takes more than that to keep a cool head in that situation.
A vet in said situation could have more carefully concentrated on each target, moved between them quicker, and generally been faster and more accurate(assuming he had training for that vehicle) Instead of our guy here who claimed he had the .50 doing 360s with full auto on; not to mention he nearly took out one of his own.
With that said, I think he handled himself pretty well considering the circumstances; IMO Hes a hero(And I dont mean just him.) I wish the media would take light to stories like these instead of boosting whichever news is more politically expedient for them.

    1. It was put in for public manipulation.

    2. The pictures were not of funerals. They were photos of coffins and there was no way of identification.
