So then that would mean that the new Volkswagen will beat them both? It has 1000 ponys ... costs a million though.Originally Posted by PreMier

The fact is, this is a new car, the Viper is not. This has the latest tech put into building it. And yes, I think the new VW will be the fastest production car made. Last I heard though, they were having troubles with it running..

My Dinan M5-S2 has beaten Vipers, but that car cost me a mint...

they have for now, sales were down. BMW typically does that with M series cars anyway. they will produce them for several years then stop, then redesign the car and bring it back out. The new M3 was so hot that's why they redesigned it again and keep producing it.
Most of the people I have seen with the new M5's have no business driving a car that powerfull, especially a 4 door sedan.

I dont even know anyone who has one. I know a couble of people who have the M3 though. And like you, I dont think they should be driving a car like that.

I think it looks like a cross between a GT-40 and a Viper.

Maybe a Viper Eater but it's not immune to the Venom 800TT.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

The 05' stang is a POS. It's the SAME fox chassis they've used since the early 70's (designed for an economy car.)
Hennessy went out of business (chapter 11). He was being sued by over two dozen people. I bet there are less 3 REAL 800tt's, and I doubt they still runOriginally Posted by maniclion

Rumor has it (get used to seeing that) that Ford's new Mustang will have a common chassis with the new retro-styled Thunderbird, the Lincoln LS, and retro-cued Jaguar. This new chassis code name is DEW, and it offers a better platform for stiffness and performance, according to Ford. The one downside is that it also makes the car a little heavier. Rough estimates are around 200 more pounds.
Thankfully, the car will, as far as we can tell, stay rear-wheel drive like the Thunderbird and Jaguar. In the past, there were moves to install the cheaper front-wheel driveline; so far this idea has been squished.

From Blue Oval News, July 2002: "It has been highly anticipated that Ford's next generation Mustang will utilize a DEW98 (Lincoln LS, T-Bird) variant chassis. While that rumor has been circulating for years, reliable sources on Team Mustang told Blue Oval News that a new hybrid chassis may almost certainly be used instead. It's been well known around Dearborn that the DEW-lite program has been under intense scrutiny from Ford management. Sources at Team Mustang pointed to aggressive cost cutting at Ford that has sparked the desire to find a more suitable chassis."
