Thread: Rotc?

I talked to the ROTC officers when I was in school, graduated in 2003, and they didnt really need a Pre- Vet major and I was unsure so I never did anything with it. That is my biggest regret from college. I absolutely should have signed up, now this is what i think, but if you are interested in the army this is the way to go! Unless you dont know if you want to be in the military and/or you have your family's 60 million dollar business waiting for you to get out of school I would give it serious consideration.

If you go, go Air Force. (Trust me).

although I would recommend that you look at some other branches of military, I was in the Army and did not care for it too much.

I guess I would be a good person to ask seeing as how I have been in for over 20 years and have dealt with all aspects of the military. First I would say that the military offers some great opportunitys and college benefits. 2nd I would say that we will be at war for the next 5-10 years, so if you don't want to do that, dont join. As a soldier, you will go at least once every 3-4 years, maybe more depending on what your MOS is. The Army is a way great way of life, but it is very demanding. IT is a great way to start your life though and learn some very valuable skills. As an officer, after ROTC, you will have a rewarding career, short or long. You will make a decent amount of money. Depending on your MOS, you may have a skill you can use as a civilian. IF you like technical things, engines, mechanical engineering, computers, join the Air Force or Navy. If you like being a barrel chested freedom fightin killer man, join the Army. Notice I skipped the Marine Corp, enough said. Feel free to PM me if you have more specific questions.
