My gym sucks...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well, i hate to say it, but my gym has sold out.

As recently as 8 months ago, my gym Body Fit (a former Gold's) was a great gym. The place is huge, had TONS of equip. and dumbells, and the people were great. Lots of serious meatheads as well as fitness people and everyday people. Overall, it WAS a great place.

Then, about 8mo. ago, they cleared out an entire 3rd of the main floor (the weights, machines, everything) and built a platform. They've still not completed it, so its just sitting there. The platforms intention is whats bad. They got rid of so much shit to put MORE cardio machines there. There's already an upstairs dedicated to cardio, which hardly ever even fills up. that was the 1st thing that pissed us BB's off.

THEN, this past week, they got rid of ALL db's 85lbs and up.
This pissed off some guys so bad that they LITERALLY had to be restrained from beathing the shit outta the owner.

Starting to get REAL fed up, i asked one of the managers what the hell was going on. He's like "we're trying to promote "cardio is good".

Ya, no shit, dickhead. So, looks like i'll be looking for a new gym pretty soon. Sucksk though, cuz this gym is 5min. from my house, and WAS hardcore. From what i know, looks like MOST people are gonna be leaving....(this is exaclty what happened to the other gym in my town thath i worked at.....tried to change to "fitness", and went under.)

any thoughts???

This is what seems to be happening. It's "fitness centers." Cardio equipment, a few nautilous equipment, chrome light weight DB's. Some of these places don't even have a bench press.

unfortunately there is not much money to be made with a hardcore gym because the customer base is so small. sounds like they're trying appeal to the general public so they can turn a profit and stay in business.

Buy a mirror, a nice adjustable bench, and a set of power blocks!

Or make a bench. I'm makin' one right now. I just need an oven large enough to powder coat this bad boy.

I finally decided to get the hell away from 24hr shitness, and went to World gym last night. There were no yuppies in sight. I finished my entire workout without being bugged. Plus Stone Cold Steve austin was there . I think I'm gonna sign up there tonight, since I already cancelled the other shit gym.

I go to a Ballys gym... It's cheap but it's getting to be so ghetto. The parking lot is filled with potholes and there's no drainage so they always have a spa open to the public. Only every other cardio machine works and it's hot and funky in there anyway due to lack of air circulation. I call the downstairs the dungeon b/c it's the basement with no windows. There has been paper towels in the bathroom a handful of times in 2 years and nobody there works to rack weights and clean machines. It's a F*QQin DUMP.

BTW Cappo5150... You have the best signature yet!!!

I went to Bally's last friday, I had a 2weeks free pass, what bull****. I went in, got their stupid tour, then they tried to get me to sign up. What happened to my 2 weeks?? Anyways, they let me work out, I was not impressed. Never going back there again.

Most gyms nowadays are lame. There's not many "hardcore" gyms around, unfortunately.

Maybe they should start calling them "Cardio Spa's"?

Sounds like my "gym". Here's how it is out in Bullshitville, Michigan.

-DB's only up to 70
-1 Squat Rack, Flat Bench & Incline
-2 Smith Machines
-Shitload of Standard and "Galileo style" (more comfortable machines - whatever, the weight feels lighter )
-3 Rows of 10 Cardio machines
-Anyone over the age of 60 doesnt know what a towel is in the showers
-Hottub should be renamed to STD Cesspool
-Pool is a joke
-Too expensive

But hey, at least the sauna's nice and my cardio bunny friends are up there alot

I hear World Gym and Powerhouse Gym are pretty hardcore for lifters. I went to a Powerhouse Gym in San Diego and they had maybe 2 treadmills and a stairmaster.
