really?
so it's universal we all agree the Beatles were great?
In an interview kurt spoke of how he admired them, for taking their music from what they did in the sixties to what they did on the Sargent Pepper album, and that he wanted to do the same with his music, take it to another level.Originally Posted by Robert DiMaggio

this was a question on a radio show this morning that is why I decided to ask here...the DJ said they sucked and about 8 out of the 10 callers agreed.![]()

many people feel that bands like the Rolling Stones and Led Zepplin were overshadowed by all of the radio play and attention the Beatles got and did not deserve.
The Beatles absolutely rocked.A lot (not all) of today's band are formulated, over-marketed, corporate whores.

Where's the choice for "I can take them or leave them"?
I think zepplin and the stones are far better personally, but for what they did for music I say they are great. You wont catch me listening to them all that much though.

your vote would be: "were way overrated"Originally Posted by I Are Baboon

I've been away from all the rock and roll music for too long... I've been listening to Christian music since 1991 and now I have a hard time remembering who sang what song... I can only think of one here and there... man - have I changed!!!! Maybe it's just that my brain is not working at full capacity today... I'm fighting a serious head cold and I'm still at work... not great but I'm managing.

I voted for young thing....
But in truth ive heard a lot of them....
Back then they were** overrated
its like the gay boy bands of our time (n'sync and such)
they suck horribly but they are very popular
but i liked the beatles better than todays boy bands...
there's no comparison. today's boy bands haven't changed music the way the beatles did. i don't personally like the beatles all the much but i think they were incredibly talented and important to music that came after them.Originally Posted by myCATpowerlifts

The beatles changed as the world changed. Their music affected the world and the world changed them. Then that bitch yoko ono came along. Ever listen to her yelling into the mike as she tried to act talented? If not than do this ... pick up a cat by the tail and squirt lighter fluid on it's head. Now light it and spin the cat in a circle till the flames go out. You have heard yoko ono.

I have heard them, and I dont care for them. I voted sucked.
Now this doesnt mean that they did nothing for music, its just my personal opinion.

They and the stones were/are way over-rated. They had a few good bluesy tunes but a lot of it was bubblegum. To this day however "Hey Jude" is one of my favorite songs. John Lennon did have a window to the soul. He didnt deserve to die like that, at the hands of a lunatic....take care......Rich

how can you not like the beatles
Beatles are only the best rock group ever. NO ONE was bigger. The only musciain that compares in sheer "craze" was Elvis.

I don't know how you can say the Beatles was or wasn't better than Led Zepp or the Stones? All had their own type and style of music. But no doubt in my mind, that the Beatles set the future for rock and roll with their music. They were totally different than any other band in their time and influenced nearly every great artist.
