    Kobe case dismissed

I think I'm in the minority who never really bought into this case to begin with.

Based on the statement he released, all the TV defense attorney consultants say that there is no doubt that they already reached a financial settlement with the girl. Basically he paid her not to go forward. Must be nice to be able to buy your way out of jail.

I really doubt they already reached an agreement...that would be so illegal that neither lawyer would touch it.

It is not illegal to reach a settlement in a civil suit during the pendancy of a criminal trial. It is illegal to pay not to testify but that is completely different.

i concur..i also doubt the lawyers reached an agreement...like u said, in the criminal, not civil case, that is extremely illegal for an out of court settlement.

well, it was smart on Kobe's defense's behalf so at least he cannot be convicted and go to jail, but now he is going to lose some serious cash, serves him right though.

I've been following the case on Court TV (well all current cases) and the prosecution didn't have squat for evidence. The ONLY thing they had was some bad DNA evidence.

The girl is a slut and surely wasn't rapped...what kind of girl gets "rapped" then has consensual sex with another man hours later? Only the lying kind...

He'd have lost more cash by going to jail so in the end he wins and so does the *****
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

are you kidding me, why the hell would she do that?? She is set for the rest of her life, and she has complete power over the marriage. she'd be an idiot to leave him.. I mean she the hell is she anyways, he's a superstar. she's lucky to be with him.

either way he's a bigger idiot. did anyone ever even see Kate Faber, what she looks like?? She butt ugly, not even on the same level as his wife?!

I was listening to the news on the radio and they had an expert say that he doubt there was a settlement reached. He also said that due to the fact she refused to testify against Kobe, no civil jury would ever believer and award her any money.

his wife doesn't need to stay with him to be very financially set for life. they had no prenup and she's both wife and mother of his child.

it's hard to forgive infidelity but i'd imagine it would be a lot harder when the whole world knows about it. of course i have no idea whether she'll stay with him or not (i tend to think not) but i don't think $ will be an issue since she'll have plenty either way.

exactly, do you realize how many millions she will get not to mention the amount of alimony (forever) and child support?

why should she leave him? ummm...he cheated on her and I highly doubt it was the first time.

unless she truly loves him and can forgive what he did, there is no reason why she should stay with him.... who gives a shit if he is a "super star".

If I were a superstar, and I cheated on my wife.

I would be one missing, presumed dead, superstar.

Then my wife would get all the money anyways. I agree with you Robert.
