    1,000 US dead in Iraq

This is just getting to be too much 1,000 dead post war since last summer.

    http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...d=540&ncid=716

I just hope they can stop the death toll from rising any more.

Yes I know it's a war, but it doesn't have to be like this.

There have to be more effective ways of eliminating the cowards w/o the troops dying in the process.

So what do you suggest? I love how people say stuff like that but don't have any ideas. this is war, this is what happens, it sucks and it is no joke but this is what happens.

exactly. there's a reason for the saying "war is hell."

Yeah, it is no joke. My best freind was a navy seal and got shot up in desert storm (bullet holes in his arm and a dead partner to prove it). All he says is "what are you going to do? that is war. that is what happens. but it needs to be faught and people will die."

All I can say is that I don't think that this many soldiers needed to die.

As I said yes it is a war, but there has to be a way to stop this many deaths.

In the next year the death toll will reach 2,000 soldiers dead.

Now that's not exceptable. It has to stop somewhere.

I don't know how, but it has to.

In a war, 1000 dead, isn't that much. The job of a soldier is to protect our freedom, that is what they sign up to do. They know there is a possiblity of deat but that is their job. 1,000 dead is only what they are reporting. Thinnk about how many die every year from terorism and radical groups.

    Sacrifice, Sacrifice, Sacrifice

Sacrificial soldiers rolling through Iraqi slums
while the terrorists in Malaysia, Saudi, Phillipines, Syria, Algeria and all over the world stockpile their guns. The President say's it's better to have them focus their attacks on the soldiers over there (read bait), yet the subways were stopped under the RNC where he made it sound like without his administration we American's would have never been able to pull together, that 9/11 is the best thing to happen for his administration and we should thank him for going on a month long vacation before getting his brief on National Security and then declaring conventional War on an unconventional enemy. In trying to be the Ultimate Commander in Chief he has failed us as the Chief Representative of our Great Nation to the World, multiplying the hate for our Imperialist ways and putting us in even more danger.

You're about useless, Why would you even make this a thread, you have no clue of what a war is, let's hear your suggestion on what we should do, though I doubt you have one that would be useful, you know it's people like you who go around announcing the death toll of a war or that several marines died today that make the spouses, parents, and families of marines and soldiers panic and go nuts. I told my family to turn the news off when anything about the war comes on when I go to Iraq, because all you do is cause people to worry needlessly when you announce shit like this everyday.

Needs to be fought? For what, with whom, and why? Please don't throw out some sarcastic bullshit answer or take a cheap shot at me for asking. I want to know why YOU think we are there P-funk and why those people had to die.

As long as we leave Canadians to make beer I am fine with this. Oh, and the buddhists for their trappist ale...Ireland for their guiness...Germany for Octoberfest...Japan for Sake. Well, that is about all I would really need around for the next few years so everyone else can go, although I do really like Thai, Chinese and Indian food. Well, I suppose there is enough of them over here to to compensate.

well for starters we could LEAVE and not come back and let the iraqis settle their own shit. sounds like a good plan to me. I mean honestly what the fucc are we doing there any more? its funny that Bush didn't even think so far ahead as to devise a plan of action for the post-war precedings. we are accomplishing nothing except continuing to put our people in the line of fire. jesus christ. Your right, it is no joke, and if someone can tell me what the fucc we are accomplishing there right now that would be great. We should be worrying about all our domestic problems that aren't being addressed/funded long before we start occupying countries in the middle east for personal gain

What are we doing in Iraq you say. Well we are trying to setup an electoral system that has long since become a joke in our own country while pretending that we saved a country from a ruthless dictator, while crippling their economy by firing every professional person they had because they were Baathist, most not by choice mind you and now we are destroying entire cities trying to bomb a few thugs, kind of like trying to exterminate a house with a shotgun.

There are positive things going on in Iraq too. My friend Cody just got back from there(Special Forces) and he would lay into you guys. Just because the media doesnt show any good, doesnt mean we arent getting water, electricity, schools up and running.

I just wonder whom we should save next after we are done in Iraq. There are so many more schools, power plants, hospitals, bridges, and agricultural infrastructures that need to be rebuilt that it is hard to know where to send our troops next. We have so many tyrants to topple and countries with people who need to have control of their country’s resources. We should enable them all to build their own forms of government. We can stabilize every area and dismantle the tyrannical régimes in power while securing the world from the threats that these régimes pose. We can be a great help to so many countries that it boggles the mind on where to start.

I guess since Syria is hiding the 3000 missing tons of Saddams' WMD until he gets free and since Syria is sponsoring terrorism we could help them out some. We all know that the Paki's are hiding something so maybe they should receive some of our help as well. We could go on a world tour and save the planet while leaving military bases in every region we have helped to ensure the follow up support they so richly deserve.

Of course we would need to expand our military budget again ...
