While forms are part of the curriculum, sparring, techniques and actual practice make up most of the classes.

This school is affiliated with the WTF (only tkd assiociation able to compete in the olympics), maybe thats why there's more emphasis on actual effectiveness of the practices!!
I agree...too many people bash TKD when either they have not studied, not studied it long enough or or most likely trained at some belt factory. I studied under one of the old Grand Masters from S. Korea myself Grand Master Chae T. Goh who just got his 9th Dan. People don't realize that a student is only as good as his/her instructor. most also do not realize that all a black belt means is that you have mastered the basics of the art. A 1st Dan is to a 2nd Dan what a white belt is to a black belt...
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I agree, I personally would never bash an art. Just like you point out, a student is only as good as his/her instructor. My Sifu in Kung Fu, busted my behind several times over. He kept saying there is no right or wrong art, only right or wrong people. As far as Black Belt goes, I've seen them fall prey to a simple white sash in my 5 animal Kung Fu. When I trained in Muay Thai, I fought 3 Black Belts in my career. 2 of which where a joke, prolly belonged to a "belt factory" like you call it. The 3rd one gave me a run for my money and the fight ended in a draw. The art is only as good as you train and make it. If it work for you, do it.
