    America in 20 years...

Fitter or fatter. DO you think the country will enjoy a health kick or just continue to get fat?
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

I look around and can't imagine most of these fat-asses ever changing their ways. Sadly, I vote fatter.

there is definately a health craze right now but the fatties are way higher in #. the problem is the kids are being raised fat. parents need to monitor more closely what their kids are eating. as far as the "fitness craze," most people want the quick fix or the miracle diet so the weight probably wont stay off of them for good. until they realize it takes time and effort, i dont see the situation improving much...imo.

    Fatter, no doubt.

Fad diets are not going to get American thin and healthy.

I, personaly think that a pill or surgey to make people thin is going to become the big thing then will become our demise.

It's easier to be fat. Therefore people will always gravitate towards that in cultures where making things easier and faster is supported so much.

The only way to combat this is through the children in my opinion. We already have one generation of lazy fat adults who were the first to have video games, too much tv and convenient fast foods. The only way to reverse it would be to train the children of today not to become like their fat parents.

Does anyone here really believe that this country can continue as it is progressing without some kind of catostrophic event? I am talking an event much more devestating then 9/11 ... one that would involve our country and society as a whole.

I believe the fitness level in all developed countries will decline until there is a "magic pill" or some kind of genetic modifications that can make anyone healthy, lean, strong and fit. It may seem like science fiction now but it will definately be reality someday. 20 yrs ago bald impotent men could only dream of a cure, look at all the advancements now..pills for hair..pills for your penis..ect.

Think of the money pharm companies could possible make off the obesity epidemic..there definately is a market for miracle cures and 20 yrs is a long time. Perhaps they may even cure cancer/aids but only time will tell.

I do no think there will be a "magic pill" to a great physique, I do believe that gene manipulation will be the future.

This is very scary as we don’t know the implications of modifying DNA at this point in humans. If we change one gene it may have a catastrophic impact on other genes. If we don't kill ourselves by environmental destruction I believe this is the way the human race will die out - meddling with DNA.

When Arnold becomes president bodybuilding will become mandatory, but since that won't happen I say fatter as technology makes activity more scarce and brings more ass-sitting jobs.

Exactly...unfortunately our society is very self-destructive. We have it so easy compared to the rest of the world, yet Americans find more ways to consciously shorten our life expectancy...

there is a HUGE difference between treatments and a cure. a cure permanately reverses a process. we have neither of those for hair loss or errectial dysfunction...

It is just an example how fast technology is progressing. It is absolutely amazing... 20 years from now we will have cures for disease's that are genetic/terminal ..the expensive treatments of today will fund research for tomorrow. I am very optomistic when it comes to the future and medical advancements...

I can agrue that Viagra and the other new "wood" treatments work as a cure if the ED is some kind of mental block..sometimes these guys just lack confidence or something because only a small % of ED is physical in nature..then you have these guys with "mental impotency" that become to rely on the "wood" drugs..visious cycle..sells meds and makes phram companies rich..

You are right though no 100% cure for baldness/impotency..but if I told some bald/ impotent guy 20 yrs ago that we would have prescription meds that work very well he probably wouldn't have believed me.

I expect that Nature will reach out and smack the world with a massive dose of reality within 10 years. It will result in a significant test of some of Darwin's theories on who remains. So, being an optimist (actually a realist) I am anticpating a massive reduction in obesity and a marked reduction in 300+ lb people propelling down the grocery isles in electric carts to the junk food counters.

Some studies have shown that squats increase blood flow to the genitals as much as any of these new medications like viagra, etc. But who would have figured that once again exercise and health is a "free" cure...lol

If you look at the data there is almost direct correlation between men with certain types of errectyle dysfunction (non-physiological) and those with heart problems like CVD. It seems that for many erectile dysfunction can be a warning sign for future health problems...

With the advent of fatless-fat, sugarless-sugar and carbless-carbs the world will be on it's way to physical perfection and then I will become rich selling my audio book 'Bodybuild in Your Dreams' it'll simply be sounds of Ronnie Coleman working-out dubbed with messages like "Feel your muscles growing" "Visualize your beer-gut shrinking into washboard abs"

I think it is a major warning sign..unless my life turned to crap over night, my wife leaves, I was on some kind of meds that are known to cause ED and I had some horrible stress going on in my life I would take any extended period of ED as a serious sign of illness. I would definately have it checked out ASAP if it were me..I don't think "wood" meds should ever be the first route taken in terms of treating ED..men should get a definate answer first before asking the doc for the viagra.
