Question What is the best file sharing program???

Hey folks, I have been told that there are many programs for file and music sharing. I don't mind paying for it, but before I do, I wanted to know which is the best in you folks' opinion.
I have been told about Limewire and the resurgence of Napster. Most tell me that Limewire is the best out there, also the one from Apple....I don't know anymore...
    Whatcha all think?

Do not get Kazaa or Kazaa lite. Get Limewire. Kazaa and Kazaa lite have a ton of corrupted files on there, whereas limewire asks you if you want to block them and then you don't get a million songs with a scratchy annoying sound.

GBC is right. Also Kazaalite is for computer savy people that know how to protect them selves from spyware, viruses, and other internet-assholes. Limewire is great, winamp is cool too. Kazaalite is good for adult video, but you must scan all files very carefully before you open them. If you are not good at dealing with internet-assholes sending shit your way then stay away from Kazalite.

...McAfee internet security takes care of everything. I wouldn't go online without it.

I was not referring to actual viruses. I was talking about songs that have been messed up (I think by the music companies) to make this horrible sound and f' up your speakers. I don't think a security program would detect that but I don't really know

I know what you're talking about now...that nasty high pitched scrambled sound..McAfee won't help ya there. In my experience with downloading music I only get the scrambled crap if it is a newer album, I mostly download classic rock and usually don't have a problem.

Yep, the newer stuff, especially pop and hip hop is the worst. That's why I switched to Limewire. It prompted me once if I want to block corrupted files, and I've never gotten another since

    Great Folks!! Thanks....

I swore by Kazaa and Winmx back in the day, but then Kazaa started sending you spyware with its program and if you didn't install it, it would not work. That was then. Today, Kazaa does not do that, but I got to hate them so much that I would not install it. Now, Emule I have heard it's pretty good. Also WinMx has been pretty good for me.
In reality if I want movies and larger files, even music, I go to the newsgroups and get them thru there.
What I am looking for is for a legit pay site like Limewire.
Once again, thanks folks for the information....

I am not sure if you remember Napster. The same type of thing but paying for it. If you buy the Limewire Pro, it costs you a one time fee, but it's understood that if you pay for that once, you are no longer in the "wrong side of the law"....

    hi
It depends upon your network properties.. one which is good doesnt work well on other networks. I prefer three Imesh, Kazaa, Limewire.. try these three one by one, and see which one is yielding more search reasults and which one is downloading faster on your network.
the latest version of imesh Imesh 5 is very nice. Lime wire suited better to me.
