Like I pointed out in the debate thread oil has likely peaked already and we are riding on inflated reserve estimates used to borrow money and increase exports.

The Army Corps of Engineers no-bid contract with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown & Root gave them control of Iraq's oil.
"But earlier this week, corps officials acknowledged the contract, which has no set limits on time or money, allows the subsidiary to operate Iraq's oil fields and distribute its oil, rather than just putting out fires and making repairs."
