I say the first part of the draft comes from people who have moved here in the past 10 years. Let them earn their right to be a US citizen. After that I don't care, I am too old anyway.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

I say we have a rich kids draft! that should be interesting

btw folx should be worried about the draft, b/c we are running out of troops and our longevity in Iraq as well as our fuccing over our allies is gonna mean that we will need kids to go over there.. It has nothing to do with Democratics trying to scare people. This is bush's fault. How many people will realize how pointless our involvment is when its their kid going over their!

Since the draft does now include females ... I am looking forward to the Bush sisters in uniform.

No one can do the math and come up with enough people to fill the needs in Iraq without a draft. I would put a wager on this one.

Don't roll your eyes at me boiiii ... I was being sarcastic. Them females will never get close to a uniform ... unless it is for a lil' horizontal action.

Well, Congress could increase the amount of manning the services are authorized.

Why would we have a draft when people are knocking at the door to join the military?
Recruitment goals across the board are at, above, or near 100% of what was required (depending on service) this year.

    Yeah, your right.

    This story proves it

    Army Meets Recruiting Goal
For the fifth year in a row, the U.S. Army Recruiting Command hit its fiscal year active-duty and Reserve recruiting goals. As of Sept. 27 (2004) , the command brought in 77,587 active Army recruits against a Department of the Army mission of 77,000, and 21,278 Reserve recruits against a 21,000 requirement.

The Navy and the Air Force met their Fiscal Year 2004 (which ended on 30 September) goal months ago. The Marine Corps hasn't announced their recruiting results yet, but as the Corps has made their goal consistently for the past ten years, there is no reason to expect this year will be any different.

Well done stick. I'll shut up about the draft ... for now. If your info is correct ... and ya know I'm gonna check again. Stats show a 49% drop over last year's enlistment record.

I'll tell you what, after this war it's going to be hard and expensive to get folks into the reserves.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

There will always be kids going to play army for real ... but right know the kids that would sign the line are like "Fuck That" and going to trade school or college.
