    Debate Round 2

    Well, what ya guys think?

At first, I was set on the fact that Bush won, but the more I think about it, I think this debate just showed how different they both were.
    Maybe an edge to bush.

The only thing it proved to me was:

    1. Kerry has a plan. I went to his website and read his plan. Evidently, most of it is classified, since what is posted doesn't say much, if anything at all. It's mostly, we live in a dream world, and can do this. (sprinkle copious amounts of fairly dust here).

    2. The more Kerry opens his mouth, the more I dislike him.

I'd have to call the debate a draw, with a strong leaning towrads Bush as far as winning it.

I would also call the debate a draw. Possibly an edge to Bush.

Bush came out swinging and made a considerable improvement compared to the first debate. Overall I think Kerry had the edge though.

    But is sounds better than:

    1) I don't have a clue ! or
    2) I am going to raise your taxes !

If you get to precise on "The Plan" then you piss of certain groups.
If you sound good and leave it like a blank slate, then you don't bother anyone because they can't tell what you are going to do.

The MSNBC poll currently shows that 69% of viewers thought Kerry won. Obviously this is a very unscientific poll.

Either way, Bush was substantially better than last week, which may shift the polls back in his favor... not that I'm a big fan of polls anyway.

I thought it was interesting to watch Bush lie. For example, when he was asked why he wont let us get prescription drugs from canada he said "I don't know what's in them, I want to keep the american people safe"

When in all actuality, one of the first things he did in office was allow drug companies the right to not publish their contents.

The whole abortion debate seemed to go over his head. I really don't know which way you people stand on abortion, but Bush was so disgustingly republican about his answer on that... it just shows that he has no interest in listening to the people on topics. This is important to embriotic stem cell research.

When the question came up about the woman who's sisters were traveling 'abroad' and discovered how people really felt about the US, GWB showed no signs of trying to repair relatoins.

Bush got schooled on the Supreme court justice question. It really displayed his untruthful/storytelling side.

And lastly, when Bush was asked the question about him making "thousands of descisions over the past four years, what were three you made mistakes on?" ; He had nothing to share. He gave no insight into an incredible learning expirience. Going into office and being president for four years, you would only hope the man learned something? The guy let me down.

I don't understand why anybody on this board would benefit from his re-election?

If Pro-Life is disgustingly Republican, then I'm just totally gross. I'm not trying to start another pointless abortion thread here, but if your pro-life, abortion is wrong period, I could care less what the people think about the topic.

As far as stem-cell research is concerned...as of NOW it is simply abortion at the most basic level. The new research I was reading about, would be able to extract the components for research without an actual embryo. THAT would be awesome.

When the question came up about the woman who's sisters were traveling 'abroad' and discovered how people really felt about the US, GWB showed no signs of trying to repair relatoins.
Jeezuz, I am so damn sick and tired of democrats (in general) caring so much what the rest of the world thinks about us. Honestly, who gives a shit. We cant make everyone happy. We do our best to help the rest of the world when things go bad and we still end up pissin some poor ass country off.
Honestly, who CARESSSSSSSSSSSSS. This is America. Its the presidents job to worry about US. Not them.

Now in saying that, Im not saying we should not attempt to have peace with other countries. Nor do I mean disrespect towards (most) other countries. Its just time we quit worrying so damn mucn about our image and start worrying about ourselves.

Not really sure man. I live with a roomate and his wife, and it belongs to them. Although we live in VERY northern california, we still get a lot of LA channels.

    Are their different dishes?

Well, yeah but that is not as important as the receiver. Some have a hard drive that lets you control when you watch what. Like Tivo's deal. The 508 is good for a starter, but either the 721 (has 2 tuners so you can watch 1 show while recordeing another) or even the 921 that records in high def (also has 2 tuners). It's good stuff if ya are busy and want some control over the times you watch what. Also have the replay, pause, and fast-forward options. Good for when Tyson bit off Holyfield's ear ... my son and I watched that like 10 times in a row and laughed or hind ends off. Watching a recorded show ... or 1 that you have delayed for 20 min's or so ... and you skip all the commercials.

Ha... sounds like a good deal.

I AM getting SIRIUS in my car in the next two weeks. The radio stations up here are absolute TORTURE, and when I go to Sac to fly home (about 4 hour drive) its all mountains and I dont get a good radio signal nearly the entire time.

    Its tough here.

Sat radio kicks ass. You picked the better of the two too. XM has a crap load of commercials on more of their stations than SIRIUS does. Lots of talk radio too .... you can get more politics in your life. We all love that ...

Biggest screw-up from the debate was when Bush missed the chance to bring up the fact that even when Saddam was invading Kuwait John Kerry voted against American involvement. That would have been a great thing for bush to bring in when kerry was talking about the "great job the generals did in the Gulf War..." Kerry is weak, that's just one more example.

The fact the American public does not hold John Kerry accountable for his voting record in the senate is very disturbing. You people see what you want to see & listen to what you want to listen to. Go ahead & vote with your blinders on & remember this the next time our country is attacked & President Kerry slaps them on the hand.. maybe even have a summit!!! that'll do some good!

I have never said everything Bush does is valid or even right, but he is the president we need in war time.

I said it once & I'll say it again... Kerry cannot win, but Bush can lose. If Kerry is the next president, it's because the country wants Bush out, not because they want Kerry in. Kerry is a sad & worthless alternative.

.. but hey, this is the same country that elected bill clinton twice.

Voting for Kerry, I would see it as indirectly voting for a pro-choice candidate, and I could never do that.

You always claim you're a "republican on issues", yet you're doing your part to send a man who is against everything that conservatives stand for to the presidency.

This was sung by Mac Davis at an Accademy Awards show or some show like it back in '81. Funny how the names have changed but the song is still timely.

Well ya can’t even look at the TV these days

with out getten scared half to death

They’re’s strikes and inflation & Strife between nations

the world’s in a hell of a mess

The eye witness news leaves me used and abused

I find myself gasping for breath

Lord but there’s one thing for certain

    No matter who’s hurtin’

the whole world ‘L blame the US

So why don’t we all just get stoned

    Get drunk

Get drunk & sing beer drinking songs

    Between Brezhnev & Beagin

    Khomeini & Regan

We might as well all just get stoned

The Russians don’t like us & we don’t like them
    The Israilies hate the Aeyrabs

Speaking of names changing, but things still the same. I was watching "Back the the Future" with the kids. And remember who it is that shoots the Doc:

    "The Terrorists".

They even wore the red and white checkered rags on their heads.

I guess the only diff, is that they are now bringing that crap to this half of the world.

I am doing everything I can to end the BushCo's control over our country. We can clean up Kerry's mess in '08 as he will no doubt be a no-hit wonder. I am ... as you ... voting against what I see as a disaster in the making. We just see it from opposing angles. I voted for Bush 1st term. He was no great Gov here in Texas but he did little to cause problems over all. He beat the choices we had and I voted for him both times. Now I am responsible for my actions and appalled at the results. This guy has lied, cheated, and killed too many Americans for any person to vote for him and for you to do so because he is not pro-choice is the same as saying you want Iraq to continue being the death call for 1000 Americans a year till BushCo is gone.

It is pretty sad that people are tossing aside Bush's WMD and Bin Missin "mistakes" and acting like it's all good.
