Save the Planet (The easiest way)

    http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=cfls.pr_cfls

If every household in the U.S. replaced one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL), it would prevent enough pollution to equal removing one million cars from the road. CFLs provide high-quality light, smart technology, and design, requiring less while lasting longer than typical incandescent bulbs.

Sick of changing bulbs every few month's. I changed all of the lights in my house to CFs and can't remember what it's like to change a bulb anymore.
    Hand them out at Christmas.

    Manic,

I applaude your efforts. I myself, (believe it or not) am a big supporter of alternative energy sources.

Uh, aren't fluorescent lights the ones that make a loud humming sound?

    No thanks.

These are compact fluorescent bulbs, quiet as can be. Your computer, TV, refrigerator makes more noise.

Lifetime: Compact fluorescent bulbs last at least nine timeslonger than standard incandescent bulbs. Compact fluorescents are rated for 10,000 hours and incandescents are typically rated for 1,000 hours. If you have a bulb that is on eight hours a day, a compact fluorescent will last 3.4 years. If a standard incandescent were used, it would have to be replaced 10 times.
I have a 27 watt(100 watt regular bulb equivalent) in my study thats been there for over a year. It's super bright and comes on instantly unlike the first CF's which took a minute to attain full brightness.
Using these doesn't make you a hippy, it makes you a little bit richer at the end of the month.

Please then burn as much fossil fuels as you can. I have a career in alternative energy so the sooner they're depleted the sooner I make more money, so leave all of your lights on, buy an SUV with 2 engines revving them at every stop light, take the long way home, run your AC 24/7, run the hot water till it go's cold every 4 hours and please don't forget to pour a little gas out for your homies everytime you go to fill your 4 thirty gallons tanks.

Quit your job Duncans the company you work for is Progressive.

“Shifting away from a fossil fuel based economy to a hydrogen economy would be a great environmental and technological achievement,” said Chris Mahoney, UPS senior vice president of global transportation services. “UPS now is jumping from a small fuel cell car to a medium-duty truck. We will continue the rapid application of this technology in hopes that in the near future, we can deploy zero-emission engines across our fleet of 88,000 vehicles.”

I have two of those Energy Star floor lamps. They are nice lamps and only cost like $30 each at Home Depot.
