For anyone that used to like the band Creed...

Get the new Alter Bridge CD. Its Creed without Scott Stapp, but I think they are even better. Amazing CD if you like this type of music.

Scott Stapp will probably be in a poor pearl jam imitation band somewhere.

From what I've heard he's putting out a solo album. Because of course his inflated ego can't be blown up enough having a real band play with him. Personally I hope it tanks and he fades into obscurity like he deserves.

Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

Does this mean they'll be dropping their pseudo-christian rock thing?

I do not believe that AB refers to themselves as a "Christian Rock Band."

I don't think Creed called themselves a christian rock band did they? Although they definately had some soul searching stuff in there. I'll have to check out the AB stuff.

Excellent point.

My revised answer is as follows:

I prefer to call him Scott Staph. As in Staph Infection.

But the band without him is pretty good.

yay.

Really...I think that he has an excellent voice, although the new lead singer may be even better. I think that musically Alter Bridge is stronger than Creed was though.

I was able to meet him thanks to a radio contest I won a few years back and he was a genuine SOB. I'm not knocking his musical talents at all.

Now now, music is all a matter of opinion. I'm not insulting their music just noting them as far as imitating the style of Pearl Jam.

You are right...my bad. But in my opinion they were nothing like Pearl Jam and in fact were far better. Now I feel that Alter Bridge may exceed the talents of Creed.

Im with ya on this, GP. I dont see any similarities between Pearl Jam and Creed. To put it simply, PJ sucks, Creed was fuckin great.

Absolutely! They sounded nothing alike. Very different sounds to their music. Pearl Jam had one decent album...their first. Creed rocked the house with all 3.

IMO Creed/Alter Bridge will be long forgotten very soon and peeps will still be turning up Pearl Jam. The album 'Ten' was an instant classic and they continue to put out quality albums. "Often duplicated, never imitated"

It is all a matter of taste, and I happen to think TOOL is the best modern rock band; Maynard also rocks in A Perfect Circle.

And in my opinion, everything PJ has done since Ten has sucked completely. But hey, some people like country music too.

But in now way will Creed ever be forgotten. And as far as Alter Bridge...if they stay together they will be one of the best alternative rock bands ever.

I'm not about to get on Gopro's bad side, so just this once I'll be keeping my opinion to myself. You're all welcome.

Speaking of good music, what do ya all think of Velvet Revolver?

They were on Leno tonight, and Ive liked them for a while. I was a big fan of both GnR and STP.... so its natural.

Most supergroups dont last long, but these guys are good, and I hope they do.
