Ive been pulled over for drunken driving twice. Piss drunk both times. But the first time, it was driving back to school from Providence, and the cop actually did ask me to recite the alphabet backwards from T to M.

Kinda strange, I fumbled.

I think after the cops ask you to recite the alphabet backwards, they are waiting for you to say "I can't even do that sober." Then you have just admitted guilt. I think the appropriate response would be "Sorry officer I can't recite the alphabet backwards, I never could." Then you might say, "Ask me something realistic and I would be happy to comply."
