What will happen after the election?
BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com I'm Canadian but I'm still following the US election from both sides because I feel it is important for us to do so. If I was voting I would vote for Kerry. However, that being aside, I'm wondering about the following scenario:
Since the vote seems so close at this point (especially the popular vote) there are several scenarios in my mind that may happen. Either way, after November 2nd there are going to be counting disputes not only in Florida but looking like multiple states this time. If the electoral vote is won by a candidate but not the popular vote (as in 2000) the you have another President that 1/2 the country does not support. No matter which candidate wins, the country will be split in half. And, if Bush does win again, the news is reporting that Democrats will protest in record numbers and fight his presidency. If Kerry wins, who knows? Is there really any winner when the country is so closely divided? In my opinion it would be much better for the US if there was a strong winner that the country would accept and follow without much question. It looks like (admittedly from the outside) that 1/2 the country isn't going to accept your leader no matter who wins. How do you feel about that and what will you do if your guy doesn't win? Remember this is just a question and not meant to offend, but I'm curious as an outsider. |

Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.
The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do. |

I was thinking about this and I think it will all just fall into the abyss.
On a side note, I met this hot oloder woman last night and we got to talking about this stuff and I could tell she was a kerry chick. Jesus christ was she pushy, she went around the bar telling everyone to vote kerry. Then, when I told her I voted Bush in 2000, she went psycho. Both extremes are full of whackos. |

I just came to the boards to ask this very same question ironically. It's been going through my head too. But the country's so focused on who should win no one's thinking about what happens after the fact.
As an American eligible to vote I have to ask, does it matter now? What I mean is the final decision is decided through electoral votes. So these electoral votes really won't (in my opinion) be affected at all by the popular vote. Either way, half of the country isn't getting what they want so the electoral vote is now up to each individual and not the country. Not to mention plenty of states have disregarded popular vote altogether in the past. so yeah it worries me too. I think our morale is at risk because whenever something screws up in the next 4 years, every other person is going to be saying "See that wouldn't have happened if Bush/Kerry had been president"- a stupid statement but one that's gonna hurt morale regardless. on one note, if bush is elected we'll have hillary up for election in 4 years and she'll either fuck us to hell or bring us higher than ever. I guess at this point I'll gamble the future to a coin toss, but I honestly don't know how well we all will fair with another 4 years of Bush. I'm a middle class citizen, and regardless of whether it's Bush's fault or Clinton's fault or Santa Claus's fault I don't care, Being a middle class citizen means getting closer and closer to poverty- and I see it in everyone I talk to (locally-take it for what you will). I'm not saying it is or isn't Bush's fault, but he's had 4 years to fix it and he hasn't. I'm willing to give someone else a chance. |

same kind of thing i was thinking about today. we've got this fuck in the middle east threatening to kill us all & i'm so wrapped up in the election: Bush vs. kerry, republican vs. democrat, conservative vs. liberal.
It's so dumb. I'm making myself sick. I'm so consumed in the election, I'm forgetting the war isn't here, it's over there. I'm voting for Bush, but if Kerry wins, oh well. The world will not be over, and with the election behind us maybe we can concentrate on what's important. I'm done arguing this election. We're the best & strongest country in the world for a reason, and I'm not letting this ugly election make me forget that again. Ok, I'll get down off my pulpit now. ![]() |

I think all of you socialist Canadians, Germans, French, Brits and the like who support Kerry should stay the hell out of our business.
What is your national unemployment rate? Its 5% here, 12% in Germany, god knows what it is in France. Good ole capitalism seems to work pretty good here. How long does a person have to wait for a basic surgical procedure or a medicine under your national health insurance program that we Americans can under a free market system can have done tomorrow? Six months, I've heard in some instances. Did you and your Prime Minister support our decision to defend your sorry asses and the rest of the ungrateful world's by invading Iraq and ridding that country of Mr. Hussein? |

I have several friends that work at the IRS. These people and all their peers HATE Bush. It has come down the ranks to them that Bush will privatise the IRS ... and of course these issues will be outsourced. Since Iraq is our new state, the jobs will go there. LOL ... an Iraqi will be doing your taxes if you vote for Bush
