    Exit Polls were wrong again...

Every news channel keeps wondering why the exit polls were so wrong.. It seems obvious to me; Exit polls are based upon votes made before 4pm EST. The early votes will most always favor the liberal candidate.

Many democrats despise Bush and had waited 4 years to vote against him - these people got up early and couldn't wait to get to the polls. Also, women, college kids, and unemployed people are able to vote earlier in the day.

For some reason, none of the news people seem to be able to see this.

i don't know where this comes from, but I was reading that more republicans go to vote after work, while democrats favor the morning.

with an obvious bias in the media, 80% for Kerry, this could be as simple as an attempt to persuade republicans to say "why bother voting if Kerry clearly has it"

.. it's a theory, and can't be substantiated at all. Either way, polls are ridiculous.

Here's my simple theory: people just aren't honest when they speak with pollsters.

Now now, don't put words in my mouth. A lot of people I know aren't too comfortable expressing their voting preferences, particularly Republicans. I think they're trying to distance themselves from issues like Iraq.

I was watching Fox News today and some reporter told his theory on the faulty exit polls - according to him, some people in the media got a list of exit polling locations, then flooded those polls with fake voters. The fake voters would exit the polling area and volunteer to take the exit poll, then say they voted for Kerry. It was supposedly an attempt to influence exit polls results to discourage Republican turn out.

    I guess it's a left-wing conspiracy. heheh

I still think the exit polls are off because senior citizens, soccer moms, and the unemployed vote earlier than everyone else.

The exit polls are just a "sample."

Samples, technically are not methodologically sound, unlike other types of polling.
