Damn Du ... from the looks of that map you could start on the west coast and drive to the east coast in a straight line and miss any county whose people had enough comon sense to not vote for Bush

Very interesting map.

Worth noting that although Bush got 3+ million more votes, the elections 51% to 48%.

Most counties in America are rural.

Correction: 52% - 47% (after Iowa)

97% of counties for Bush.

I see this argument everywhere by dems: But like I said... a lot of Kerry votes were just votes against Bush: I expect a much bigger Republican win margin in 08.

The maps further shows Kerry only doing well, as in "winning", in the Liberal bastions of the country. The Democrats completely alienated the mainstream middle class working vote with their pick of an arrogant/know it all/ NorthEast Liberal and further eroded their support by allowing the fringe elements of their party to have such a large voice. Gay issues, abortion, feminists, the Hollywood bunch, all of this contributed to Kerry completely getting his ass kicked in the places he should have won.

But I think they finally learned their lesson this time around. Your going to see a different kind of Dem candidate in 2008..........Rich

I am not a nut ... ... no really Busy this a great start for the party. Now we just need someone that could tie all the areas of power into a cohesive force to fix what ails us. You already know what I hink of BushCo. We need a replacement.

hey sorry Luke, didnt see your earlier post.

The source is biased, but I assume its still factual. It comes from Sean Hannity's website. I thought the same as you, at first. But, I looked at Connecticut's counties and they were all accurate (only Litchfield County went red). So, Id assume its all accurate. The information is easy to find. Its very easily available on cnn.com.

Agree Rich. The only hope for the Democrats is to invite those you mentioned to go to the Libertarian party in a polite way. It's the only chance they have and the only way to save face with thier moderate constituency who are voting Republican more and more.

On that map, the thing that it does not show is another phenomena I saw last election. Namely, the only big wins were in the large cities which further reinforces a theory I have about the nature of the people voting democratic these days.

ahem,... no.
My theory was that that the people who live in the big cities vote for Kerry because this is where the "hand out pigs" and similar people live. They concentrate there to get all the "free" big city services that everyone else pays for:
Busing, drug programs, education in native non-english languages, big social program centers (how to fill out an employment applications and training on how to get all you can from "uncle sugar"), birth control centers with free condoms (make great water balloon toys for the kids to play with when mom is working), free places to write graffiti with a large audience, free place to shop for new wrist watches (rolex is popular in the parks after dark), free access to health clinics when the poor "working" moms come down with a bout of syphilis when she agreed to do her John unprotected for an extra nickle bag of pot, free advice on how to vote (with a free Kerry flip flop for your feet), free air conditioning in the public library systems and all the free camp sites to sleep in at knight (aka city parks and benches).

Well said OD.
My opinion exactly.

you can always count on the vote of Paul.

""""""""That the better educated big city folk know what the hell they are doing and don't fall for government lies.""""""""

This exactly the kind of thinking that doomed Kerry and his little gaggle of Liberal elites. And will continue to doom the Democrats, most of all those that come from the N/E of the big city. Just cause you country don't mean your stupid, and kindly explain to me, if country folk are so stupid, why it is that the biggest,thievingist,lieing-est, rat pack of a professional bullshit artist politicians all come from the big city?

This arrogant, big city, North East,West Coast,Hollywood,Pagan, feminist, leftists shit-ass attitude is what drove Southern and country voters away from Kerry in droves and sealed his fate. All he had to do was to take a few southern states and he could have won it but he wouldn't come down from his high-handed Ivy league perch. And the ketchup Queen? What a beaut she is/was. Imagine her hobb-knobbing around barbecue, drinking Bud ,in the pits at the Indy 500?

Well..........I spent a lot of time in the country and I like country. I liked Bud, and I like country music, race cars, and country folk. I could have ran a better campaign then Kerry did and I sure as hell would have told him to stuff his big city attitude, and to tell the queen to just shut the hell up.

And on election day they all looked like th sky fell in. They were genuinely surprised. So much for big city meaning "smart"................................... .................Rich

Rich,
It really make you wonder what he was smoking that he could not have come up with a simple solution to win this election. Bush was not the strongest candidate the Republicans have fielded - with even a moderate sense of intelligence the Democrats probably could have taken it. But the thing that really really scares me is: suppose Kerry managed to squeak by on win the election due to Republicans not turning out at the election. Someone that can not plan a rational election campaign would have been a DISASTER in Iraq and foreign policy. Kerry and the Democrats are CLUELESS. Thank God we did not get that buffoon with the billion dollar spoon in his mouth masquerading as the Robin Hood of the Blue Collar worker. What a con-man.
