God bless the men and women that fight for our rights.
I just wanted to thank all the Vets out there for the selfless service they've provided this country to make it as great as it is.
SO MANY people have given their lives and fought so we can enjoy ours.
So, if you're reading this, thank a soldier.
God Bless,

Today is the day that everyone should take a minute or two and reflect on the sacrifices made by all the veterans of war.
Thank a veteran.
I think about veterans everyday, one in particular - Erik. He served and it changed his life. May have had a hand in his death. So, thanks need to be deep, we just don't know what they go through. Thank you a million times!!

Well "This Veterans day...a salute" has 3 posts and 36 looks since yesterday. Meanwhile the "Hot Naked Woman" thread has 35 posts and 179 looks, "talkingwithoutspace" thread has 23 posts and 101 looks, and "ODs a pompous ass" thread has 36 posts and 298 looks. And all four are about as old. I bet if I made a thread, "How often did mommie catch you jerking off?", it would beat out the "Veterans Day" thread in about 60 seconds.
If this is Americas youth then Im changing my views on abortion.Hell the focking Canucks honor their veterans better then we do

I volunteer to help at the bi-monthly Club 100 dinners here. My Girlfriends grandfather served with the 100th Infantry Battalion during WWII.
They were the Japanese Americans who served their country proudly even though their families were facing prejudice in the States.
Their bloodiest battle occured during their rescue of the "Lost Battalion". The First Battalion of the 36th Division had been given the assignment to clear a ridge deep in the Vosages, but had been cut-off by the Germans. The battalion, the 1st Battalion, 141st Infantry Regiment (a former Texas National Guard unit), had been cut off since October 24,1944. The other two battalions of the 141st were unable to break through. The 100th /442nd, was ordered to rescue the Lost Battalion in a real-life "Saving Private Ryan" mission (More men were lost in the 100th/442nd in the rescue operation than there were to save in the 1st of the 141st.).
These Japanese American units suffered an unprecedented casualty rate of 314 percent and received over 18,000 individual decorations.
I drank a few beers last night in memory of the fallen and thought alot about my Grandfather and Father both serving in the Army patrolling the arctic circle against the "commies" in the '50's and 60's.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I like to shake the hand of any Vet I can and thank them for their
service to our country. My wife's Uncle and Grandfather were all
Marines and fought in WWII. so I heard some nasty stories of what
it was like.
My family tries to remember them with stories of vets from our family,
and we watch war movies to remind us of some of what the guys
went through. This year was "Private Ryan".
The letter they read from Abe Lincoln about the 5 brothers killed
in the Civil War always brings tears to my eyes.
