I am obsoletely amazed that they found him guilty. This prosecutor botched this case big time. The Jury had to break from testimony and go on pure obvious human intuition. He tried to run and he was caught lying. Fry the bastard.

If you didn't know he was guilty then you probably don't know your own street address. I mean I don't know anyone who would leave their pregnant wife home on Christmas Eve to go fishing alone. And then when you get back and she's not home any normal human would think "Hey maybe she went into labor I should find out." There was no chance of pretending the glove didn't fit in this case.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

It is good to see that we all agree this asswhipe is guilty. He killed his 8 1/2 month old unborn child. How much of a monster do you have to be to do this? Dahmer's justice was served to him when he was turned into a human popcycle. That had to hurt. I hope he is not isolated until he is put to death so the prison population component of justice will be served.

i must be one of the few people on this board who think peterson got fucked over..where is all the hard evidence? no way in hell he should have been convicted

there have been plenty of murder trials where the defendant has been convicted on a case built around circumstantial evidence...

I actually think you are correct on the hard evidence point. The man was a guilty as they come but there was no physical proof or well presented case in this trial. This is a case where a trial by jury worked in a good way to convict the guilty rather then left them off for a change. Normally a jury will tend to be hard over the other way and insist on all kind of physical evidence. In this case the jury showed the wisdom of having a trial by peers (most of the jurists were deviants and odd balls like Peterson and could relate to the criminal mind) and they saw right through the lies and the crap and said HANG HIM because it was so heinous of a crime.

Can someone explain to me why this case received so much media attention?

Granted it is an awful thing, the murder of a young lady and her unborn child, but murders happen daily...why did this one get focused on?

There was no celebrity staus or anything about it that made it much different than the murders that happen daily in this country.

Robert I am soooooo tired of turning on FOX or MSNBC and seeing live coverage of this asswhipe. These guys need some kind of tragic hapenstance to feed of ... for their very ability to eat they require someone like Jon Bene Ramsey or LAcy Peterson to become victimised. How many people around the country have suffered a wrongful demise? On an hour to hour basis somewhere someone is getting killed in this country.

It probably came out on a slow news day, the other news outlets didn't want to be left behind, then the feminists got in on the act. The persons involved were Lilly white. Maybe the family had some politics? Plus its just a plain shitty thing to do! To murder your own wife in such a fashion whilst she's carrying your son.

But Ive had worse that never even made the paper. On an X-mas eve about 15 years ago I arrested a roided out body builder for beating his 9yo daughter to death. I'll never forget looking at her naked on that gurney. She was beaten so bad I couldn't even recognize her features and could only tell she was a girl because she was naked. And her father was such a monster we couldn't even fit regular handcuffs around his wrists. Until the day I die I will wonder how a father could do that to their child, and on a Xmas eve?

I had another one where a family member raped and strangled a 1 yo kid. I had a guy once who strangled his 73yo mother and then caved her head in with the telephone. We've had em cook their babies in ovens or just throw them out the window. And I don't even want to talk about the real bad ones. Most never even make the news.

Theres no escaping the fact that the poorer you are, or the darker you are, the less chance of anyone giving a shit if your murdered. I may be conservative but I'm not blind to injustice and while we try to investigate every crime equally, it just doesn't happen! Justice just plain aint blind!

But this mongrel deserves to cook on old sparky for doing this to a pregnant woman, and without a wet sponge. This is why Im tolerant of religion and intolerant of Liberalism. Because in my opinion the lack of the first, and the excess of the second, has degraded the basic respect for life in this country. I believe if we went to church more, respected the vows of marriage more, outlawed abortion except in extreme cases, and most of all fried these kinds of offenders quickly; And never, ever releasing the habitually violent ones! This would be a much safer country...........Rich

Outstanding post Rich. We as a nation must survive this liberlistic mindset that permeated the politics from the Democrats the last 20 years. As we enjoy the re-election of our fine leader we will see a more ethical presentation of morallity and less of liberal flag burners trying to burn down our nations self respect.

It's for that exact reason they SHOULD put him in General Population. Save us all the agony and expense of the appeals process.
