It's obvious this person had an agrument with OD at one time or could be backing up a friend or relative, whatever the case is they should at least be man or woman enough and use there real name to do crap like that.
Why would be people use an alias is beyond me.

Hmmm... I'm not sure. When I downloaded it, it added a toolbar on my puter. Maybe that's it? I pretty much know how to turn my computer on and that's it.

This IP idea is only only good if someone has a static IP. With a dynamic IP restart your connection to the internet in any of several ways and you have a new IP.

yeah but most people are on cable modem these days and even those being dynamic ips - they stick around for a long time and most people are too dumb or too lazy to figure out how to change the IP much less know what it was.

should also be a way to have the IM server set a cookie in a manner that if they relog in as a different user you can associate the cookie with the prior log in and essentially declare the person as suspect since they are on the same account and pc. Not perfect due to people sharing PCs and accounts at home/school but it at least ties down who are friends
