I hope they reach their goal.

Anyone think they could eventually travel at the speed of light any time soon? LOL.

Very nice. The thought of shortening a 10 hour transatlantic flight is good news.....

The space of time between a test bed like this, and working prototype of such a war plane, is actually fairly short. With computers and high tech equipment they work out almost all the kinks before actually putting a pilot in it. I'd say within 5 years we'll have an actual Hypersoar bomber and within 10 we'll have the fleet coming on-line. Hell for all we know they have one flying around the Nevada deserts as we speak.

Its probably more a space ship then air plane anyway as it skips in and out of the atmosphere. Hypersoar is also going to have GPS/Inertial guided smart missiles that will go as fast as the bomber. Both weapons and bomber will be stealth constructed, not that it matters because nothing will be able to stop either one anyways. This warplane will be invincible!!!

And thats what NASA and the military are doing now. They are testing a warplane. They talk shit about civilian travel versions but thats just publicity because no airline is going to be able to afford to buy and fly it. Hypersoar will be able to reach about anywhere it has to in just a few hours. Why is that relevant? Because the emerging /threatening nuclear nations are arming with liquid fueled ICBMs, unlike the more advanced ones that have solid fueled ones. Liquid fueled missiles are extremely volatile, take a few hours to fuel and ready for launch, and then can only be on launch standby for a few hours before they have to be emptied of fuel and then go thru the entire process again.

HS will give us the ability to reach these targets before they can be launched. The bomber will also be mated with the high penetrating/low yield nuclear weapons we are developing for it. The B-2 must already scare the Bejeezuss out of the various tyrants of the world but imagine what a invisible bomber/missile with a speed of Mach-10 will do to their sleep patterns?...................Rich

Um Monolith in case you didn't know NASA builds space crafts, this is a new space craft.

& 2ndly there is no car in the world that would even drive that fast or even come "ANYWHERE" near that speed.

But I guess this is a car like this in your fantasy world.

No, Johnny, really! I swear! In fact i was just up in Quebec last weekend. It takes a lot of concentration to veer in and out of traffic at that speed... but boy is it ever exciting!!

I got to canada to do it because that way if i kill someone its not so bad... because its not a real person, its just a canadian.

You really have a wild imagination to create such a fantasy world.

Now let's keep this on a NASA topic thread okay.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

I think the whole point of the experiment was to test the new Supersonic combustion ramjet engine that does away with the need to carry heavy oxygen tanks to introduce Oxygen into the fuel, instead it scoops and compresses the atmoshpheric O itself.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
