Yeah I know.
It's funny, tit recommended the book to me and she'd already read it. The first few chapters where you read about Marvin I said that I love Marvin's character, but I think he's gonna die. She assured me it'd never happen, but so far he keeps getting screwed one way or another (he's been plummeted into a sun, left on a planet until the end of the universe, etc.)
