    Magazines

Im looking to subscribe to a couple differnt mags for my bf for xmas. Do you think its better to subscribe from the actual magazines website-or has anyone ever used those 3rd party companies like: http://www.magazineline.com/Public/F...lex%20magazine or http://www.mags4cheap.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=689. They are cheaper

I've used those third party companies in the past and the initial price is OK, but I'd NEVER do it again. Once they have their hooks in you they won't EVER let go. They call at all times of the day or night to try to get you to subscribe to even more mags. The try to bully you into extending your subscriptions. They make massive billing errors and then blame you and try to mess with your credit. I've also talked to a couple of other people who have used these companies and experienced the same treatment. Based on my own experience I'd go ahead and spend the extra $$$ to avoid the hassle.

I agree with ALBOB on this. Those third party companies are VERY AGGRESSIVE in trying to get you to subscribe to more magazines, plus they will sell your name and address to shitloads of other marketing companies and soon your mailbox will be flooded with even more junk mail. It's not worth the ten bucks you'll save on a couple of subscriptions. You are better off just subscribing directly through the magazine.

I got roped into a "magazine service" when I was in college, and it was a MAJOR pain in the ass to cancel my subscriptions. They just wouldn't let me out of it.

just buy him a pile of mags n pull the little subscription cards out of the ones he likes and mail them in. Details is really good and Men's Health. GQ, Esquire but just watch n see the ones he looks really into.

Speaking of online subscriptions, do you think Max would appreciate a years subcription to Playgirl.
He says he likes to read only the articles.

    Hi Jill,

You have to check it out and see - there are specials from time to time.

I like FITNESSRX FOR MEN myself - it is a bi-monthly and costs I think $21.00 a year. I have not seen it cheaper anywhere but I think it is worth the money.

    Take Care, John H.
