Are you proud of your parents?

Did they have you under the best conditions to raise a child? Were they really rich? Did they discover the mystery of life before throwing you in a world of complexity and violence? Did they teach you everything you are supposed to know about human relations? If one day you become a great human being, do they deserve the credit for it?

Nah, I don´t think so. I am going to the beach now and everything bad I do I will blame on them.

    Ouch.

Mum was awesome, wise and funny and always there when I needed her, miss her a lot, could still use her advice from time to time... alright a LOT of the time.
Dad was also great... just a bit of a 'know it all' fucker!

I like both of my parents now that I don't live with either of them. We had some battles while I was going to college in VT, once I went to FL everything was coll. As for whether or not I am proud of them...That would all depend on the amouont of my inheritance. j/k.

Mom = Okay. We had some fights and had some hurt feelings but she's allright. We at least have some things in common.

Dad= We don't talk much unless WWE programing comes on. Otherwise, he is a mean bear and no one wants to be near him.

Mom-well she died when I was 5 1/2. We probably would have fought though....too much alike...stubborn. Accomplishment wise, yes I am proud of her. Pharm D.
Dad-I take after him in terms of interests (cars and sports), as well as body-type (all our weight goes to our gut). In terms of accomplishments, of course I am proud of my dad. Cardiologist and skipped a year of residency.

Go figure on the interests though. I lived with my grandma for the majority of my life.

I have good parents and they were always there for me and still are. They made their fair share of mistakes, but overall they did a good job. I think if they would not have divorced when I was young things would have been much better. I grew up very "middle class", a bit spoiled too. Today both of my parent are re-married and live pretty well, both recently bought new houses, etc. and both are semi-retired.

A couple of things I am trying to do different as a parent: stay living in the same house and letting our son attend the same schools (as a child we moved about every year or two), trying to not spoil him like my sister and I were (teaching the value of money, etc.), and trying to be a good husband so my wife keeps me around. (broken homes really suck!)
