I can tell you as a former South Carolinian student that it has a very poor school system. Oh yeah, we've earned that rank

So I am guessing your parents voted GOP and that is how you voted. So you voted GOP in GA and they voted GOP in Michigan. Michigan went Dem and GA went GOP. Is this even sinking in yet?

I'll make it very easy. The only way that SAT scores could be correlated with the way a person votes is if they were asked who they voted for and then asked what their SAT was. This was not done that way, they took data from whoever does the SAT and then they figured out which states went which way. Also, the data assumes that each blue state is 100% blue and each red stat is 100% red. A large portion of the states were no more than 55% either way. So let's say States A has an SAT mean of 1200 and went blue. Now, of the 45% that went red, the average SAT was 1400 and of those that voted blue the average SAT 1000. It could go either way.

So you have data that shows that stupid people have stupid kids? You also have data showing that all people who voted for Kerry have lower SATs than those that voted for Bush?

So did you vote in GA or MI?

BTW, your wrong, just admit it. You are really stretching with the dumb kids dumb parents thing. Besides, I have the same IQ as OD, and we voted differently. This in and of itself disproves your point.

But you missed the step where your kids moved to GA, and then participate in the next election

You're forgetting immigrants. (The legal ones, anyway.) Many come here in their late teens. So by the time the SAT's roll around, they wouldn't have been here long enough to do well on the English portion. Doesn't mean they're stupid.

Later, many of them tend to vote Democrat.

Max, you know better than that, you know the immigrant vote is never actualloy counted. We just let them go thru the process to make them feel like Americans.

You may be right. I've never actually bothered to vote myself, so can't really disprove the theory.

Here is another interesting demographic analysis. In terms of political funding for a party, those who are faculty at Ivey League schools overwhelmingly support democratic candidates (I'm sure these guys have high IQ's, my alma mater is one of them...Dartmouth.)

http://davidm.blogspot.com/2004/07/p...e-schools.html

It was a small database and has imperfections (as Dale will point out) but nevertheless interesting

Quote:
...... I found 792 donations to the 2004 campaigns of Bush and Kerry from individuals employed by Ivy League schools. An astonishing 92% of those donations were to Kerry. Dartmouth had the highest percent for Kerry (97%) and Princeton the highest for Bush (16%). Harvard had more than double the total donations of any other school, while Brown and Dartmouth had the fewest total donations. Here are the results:

Brown: Kerry 24, Bush 3 (Kerry 89%)
Columbia: Kerry 118, Bush 18 (Kerry 87%)
Cornell: Kerry 76, Bush 6 (Kerry 93%)
Dartmouth: Kerry 30, Bush 1 (Kerry 97%)
Harvard: Kerry 280, Bush 17 (Kerry 94%)
Penn: Kerry 38, Bush 2 (Kerry 95%)
Princeton: Kerry 74, Bush 14 (Kerry 84%)
Yale: Kerry 85, Bush 6 (Kerry 93%)
-------------------------------------------
Total: Kerry 725, Bush 67 (Kerry 92%)
The data are imperfect as noted in the methodology section below. However, none of the imperfections seem likely to bias the data significantly in terms of what percentage of gifts went to which campaign....
