I have 100 semester hours towards an engineering degree, and have 50 credits that I can transfer towards it from military credits, Gas turbine school etc,
I lack 1 social studies course 2 math and a english for my BA in eng, I Would finnish the degree if I needed to. but I have all the skills I need to make good money, and part time in continuing ed at the college 37.50 hr, why finnish school. I went to college to make more money, Im making it.
I can afford pretty much anything I want. I am getting a corvette in spring, I have a ski boat, Three, 1 acre lots on the lake, 10 acres free and cleer in the AZ white mountains, My house is almost paid off, and I have almost no debt. I owe a little on the Harley, and my three cars are paid for.
When I move in the spring, I won't even have a house payment.
Maybe then I will finnish my degree, but probably not, most likley slow down and just home school my kids and work out.
My Psyc teacher told me I was gifted and should persue that field but I don't want to hear my problems, much less everyones. so I went for engineering. Gas turbine goes down, no hanging, overdose, slit wrists, just fix it and carry on. Was that enough info for you?
I could start a " Chuck tormented chid hood thread if you need to, the burnings, beating's and so on.LOL
    Peace bro.

    TRUE.

East Asian: generally defined as Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese score higher on analytical/mathematical I.Q. tests. The highest in the world actually.

I live and work in Vietnam.

The learning styles of many Vietnamese students is of the analytical bent.

I'll ask a class of kids, "what's your favorite subject?" 80% answer math, including the girls.

The transcends into thinking in a "linear" way. A ---> B

BUT....if some little bump in the road occurs on the way from A to B, they have difficulty finding a solution. Little things can cause problems, if things "don't go according to plan." This is why Vietnamese make great, productive, fast-learning workers. But when it comes to management at companies, they bring in foreigners to manage things.

This analytical learning/thinking style is reflected in the fact that Vietnamese English students like grammar, and often focus on grammar way, way, too much. Sometimes to the point of frustrating me.

Because in grammar there are "rules."

People don't need to, and are not motivated to "think outside of the box."

(The Confucian educational system is also a factor, too.)

Cman, no offence intended by my above (2x above) post.

I tend to shoot from the hip.

I bought and read the book when it first came out. Stil have it on my shelf.

I forget the two guys who did the research and the writing.

It's a very interesting book into the study of "Eugenics."

Unfortunately, race was primarily confined to one chapter. Chapter 11, I think.

Almost all of the book is NOT about race. But what did the media focus on?

    The race card.

I read somewhere that the SC SAT scores are artificially low b/c of the SC requirements. I guess we make more people take it and typically the people who are being forced to take it b/c of that requirment are obviously some of the ones bringing the numbers down.

I just get tired of the "all the smart people voted for Kerry" crap. I guess you probably surveyed college professors to get that information. How about surveying entrepreneurs?

The liberal elitists have become more arrogant than ever. I guess I should not complain, their attitude is helping their cause lose.

Well, you can bank on it that 90% of all public educators voted liberal.
