    Titan

Cassini-Huggens is approaching one of her most interesting goals, detailed images of Titan, one of the moons of Saturn. What makes it so interesting is that Titan holds a system close to what Earth was lke billions of years ago. Its filled with methane, N2, that under influence of the Sun light generates one basic thing for life to occur, aminoacids. We canīt really see what is inside for now because its atmosphere is so dense due to methane and a big orange moon is what we see. When its probe enters this dense orange layer, we should see very white rivers of liquid methane, vulcans of water, big mountains of ice and a green sky where the rain falls with very big drops but so slow that it actually evaparotes before hitting the surface. It is so great there but it doesnīt have women, yet.

This all happens this christmas and the images arrive in the beginning of 2005.

We don't know much of what the moon is like. But other then the fact its in a freezing hell it is remarkably like the primordial Earth was billions of years ago. At least from what we do know. Its gravity is so weak a person could fly thru its atmosphere with just wings attached to their arms. Titan is the only moon in the solar system that even has an atmosphere. The Huygens probe will be detaching from the Cassini spacecraft in a matter of hours to begin its slow trek to Titan. In January the probe will descend to Titans surface.

Its going to be a hell of a trip. Space exploration is one of the few "lights" the wicked human race has created out of the squalor of their darkness.............................Rich

Home, home again I like to be here when I can....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

The journey of space exploration we are takeing is bringing us closer to understanding where we ourselves have evolved from. It is one of the few things I like about Bush ... that he supports our space programs.

That one near the bottom looks like an old picture of Hawaii from the 1950's.
