Re-Runs for TV shows already in December?
Don't these actors & actresses get enough vacation time after their year ends?
I've noticed the last few years that starting the 2nd week of December & they usually don't start showing new programs until at least the 2nd or 3rd week of January. I know that they probably have about 3-4 new episodes that they could show. They used to about 7-8yrs ago show just 2 weeks worth of re-runs around X-Mas & New Year's time b/c they figure many ppl would be away visiting relatives & on vacation & so on. Which I can understand. But within the last 5 yrs they start showing re-runs the 2nd week of December up until the 2nd or 3rd week of January. This is a bit much IMO. I don't spend all my time watching tv, but there are about 4 weekly 1hr programs I follow & enjoy watching that I may also tape if I'm not home. I think the actors/actresses have too much time off & they also get paid for all their re-runs. What do you all think? |

I think they deserve it, they have a talent that not many of us have. It's just like being a professional baseball player when they get the whole winter off..they earned it.

I still think that they don't need to show sooo many re-runs & that they could work an extra month to make some extra episodes

lol, If someone deserves alot of vacation time for acting, and getting paid loads and loads of money; then our soldiers should gain retirement after serving 6 months in Iraq. JMO

But it's sad that reality crap TV is taking over. Such as the Giligan's Island "Survivor" series. Just pathetic. |

The actors don't decide re-runs. It's the network and producers.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

You'd be surprised how little control they have.

The shows are already taped
Why would they show new shows when they won't have the audiences full attention. ie. Functions to attend, Christmas specials, Shopping....etc |

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Damn Re-runs
NBC Announces The Jefferson’s return to Prime Time ![]() After more than 18 years after being canceled and 28 years since it’s original broadcast, NBC announced this week that they will be bringing back The Jefferson’s for an 11th season. When asked why NBC is bringing back the Jefferson’s, executive writer, Nancy Boyle explains, "Our network has always been producing high quality family programming. Bringing back Weezy (Isabel Sanford) & George (Sherman Hemsley) seemed like the natural thing to do. We are going to bring it more up to date." The main feature of the show will still be the love/hate relationship of the Jefferson’s. However George’s dry cleaning business went under and they had to move out of their deluxe apartment in the sky. ![]() Living on social security the Jefferson’s had to fire their maid Florence Johnston (Marla Gibbs) and move into their new apartment at "227". As you may know 227 was the show Marla Gibbs moved onto after the original run of the Jefferson’s ended. Gibbs will remain on the show as her 227 character Mary Jenkins and Hal Williams will return as Mary’s husband Lester Jenkins. Other returning characters include Regina King who played Brenda Jenkins, Curtis Baldwin who played Brenda‘s boyfriend Calvin Dobbs and yes… Jackee’ will be returning to play that sexy devil Sandra Clark. To add a little flavor to the show Lenny Kravitz will be playing a wild rocker that lives next door to the Jefferson’s. His character (Dreads Willis) coincidentally will be the son of The Jefferson’s old Neighbors Helen and Tom Willis. The late Roxie Roker who played Helen Willis was the real life mother of Lenny Kravitz. When asked why he agreed to do this show Kravitz said, "It’s like ya know man, I’m paying a homage to my momma who always said her life was all about The Jefferson’s. I plan to incorporate some of her style and flair to my character, Dreads. Of course Dreads will be a little goofy like his Poppa Tom." The writers plan on having Dreads and Sandra Clark (Jackee’) get married mid season. Jackee’ says of this soon to be union, "Well, I hope that little man knows that you can’t just tie Sandra down, Sandra does the tying baby. Any man who even sees her automatically wants her and I hope that Dreads can handle that; I doubt he can. It will make things very interesting though." The Jefferson’s will be airing Thursday nights at 9pm on NBC. |

That's some cool news man, I will look forward to watching it. Wonder why it was cancelled in the first place? That's a relief. I wish there were a few other cancelled shows they'd bring back. LOL |
