It's still against the law for them to call your cell if I'm not mistaken. If you get a call just report them.

FCC has everything to do with your wireless number. I've been in the wireless industry since before any of the current acquisitinos. They have the final say in all tax processing for LNP (local number portablility), gps mandates and privacy rights. They set the ultimate guidlines for all final decisions.

Yeah, anyone that doesn't involve T-Mobile, they suck. Service is intermittent, but I decided to tough it out for a year. Then, I accidentally forgot to lock the keypad and some number got dialed that I had never heard of in Montana or some shit. They sent me a bill for $500 and we parted ways. A very similar thing happened to one of my friends who uses Verizon and they realized the issue and took it off her bill.

Anything that would destroy Nextel is a good thing, they have horrible signal. Something about not sharing towers or some shit.

it is not a rumor. for new wireless suscribers if you do not request to not to be listed in the directory your number can end up on it...

the Pierz Group has reported that revenues of up an additional 2 billion dollars can be generated by 2008...

You are wrong. The wireless directory will be for people who wish to be located in the event you use your wireless number for business.

actually I'm not...the proposed plan is to either have the number unlisted, the number listed or the option for a message to be left for a charge. I've read a working draft from the CTIA on the 411 Wireless Directory...have you ?

Did you see the part that still makes it illegal to solicit to a cell phone. I am just going off of what the FCC chairman who is the head of everything related to communications is saying.

Who are these idiots that actually buy something from these telemarketers and help to keep it going? Has anyone here ever actually spent more than 5 seconds listening to that babble?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles

Well if it wasn't for the fact that my emails are confidential and I can't post them here... the directory for VZW customers will be optional. Same as a few years back when other wireless carriers instituted peoples names on caller ID service and VZW did it for a day and then stopped b/c of complaints

I forget the numbers but unfortunately there is a vast population that makes over millions a year in telemarketing profits

BTW... the Sprint and Nextel merger was completed this morning. Final closure will be in the second quarter of 2005. Still only 35 million customers even with a merger

nope but I used to work along side with SBC when I worked for Agilent and have access to standards documents and working drafts from the IEEE 802.3, CTIA, EIA, TIA, WECA, ATM Forum, DSL Forum and the Gigabit Ethernet Alliance. do you have access to these types of documents ?

I don't need them when VZW emails you directly with forms mandated by the FCC Good enough for me. That is what I get paid for

Well, I signed up for this on 12/15. Since then I have received 4 calls from 866/877 numbers. I had never received calls from those numbers before. When I pick up the phone, no one is on the other line. I have no idea if that is a coincidence or not but it is a pain in the balls picking up my phone to see an 877 number. WTF.

The numbers are 866-221-3434 and 877-729-3972. If I had a land line I would check them but I forgot to check them from work.
