I cam home from work one day and saw my kid playing this game in his bedroom with a friend, who owned it and had brought it over. I'd never seen the game before, had never heard about it, and didnt much like this other kid much in the first place. Anyway I stood there watching and from what I could see GTA pretty much consisted of the players walking around a city beating the shit out of innocent people with baseball bats. "you can even kill cops in it right"?

He'd brought some rap music with too and they joined this demented game in the bushes too. I'd have kicked the little prick out of my house as well but his parents werent home and I was responsable for him. I made him sit on a chair while my kid had to study his school books. Thats how much I thought of 11yo's playing GTA. This kid hasnt been allowed in my house since.

The pathetic thing is that the cheap fucking whores in the entertainment industry, who are nehind these demented games, are the biggest spouters and pouters of anti-gun,anti-violence, womens rights,human rights...the whole laundry list of the Liberals "Im a better person then you" act. Yet if the price is right they will spew out garbage,violence,guns and crime, until you want to puke. It is necessary for them to be exposed to some violence in video games or movies. If you see doctors working they usually make very sick jokes about patients, that is a tool to make them feel better about such dramatic conditions. Those videogames are just preparing them to not view the world not as a really bad place, so they take it easier. I really don´t think someone could turn into a criminal because of them. I don´t agree with the media though that exaggerate facts to sell more.

Doctors??..what??? what do doctors have to do with children watching violence? Now you say these shitbird mean little games are a "good preparation" for "not seeing the world as an evil place"? and for "taking it easier"? Brother what the fuck are you babbling about?

Gratuitous violence takes the human element away from th effects of said violence. Add to it the effects of woman degrading gratuitous pornography and "bingo" you have the reason behind the upsurge in sex crimes.

I have nothing against a kid seeing violence. For instance violence from a realistic war movie like SPR. I want him to see how terrible war is and how degrading to humanity it is. And I raise my kid with firearms, as I was raised with. But I will not allow him to see such tripe where violence is the star, the main object of entertainment, where its glorified, "even fun". And where the perpetrators of said "mean little shitty" violence are not responsible for what they do. You dont have to deal with these vicious bullnecked 13yo to 18yo little jag offs. I do! And I believe most of them are products of a society that allows its kid to be raised in an environment of gratuitous violence. And now with video games and mass distribution of movies its a world society. Same thing for pornography. I do have to agree with pornography though, that is just not a good thing. Sexy pictures I like or erotic literature but pornography is degrading to women and one of the reason people have no idea how to enjoy the opposite sex. It is really boring and what most people think it is sexy, it is actually quite stupid.

Keeps the drama down.I worked in the ED on the grave shift and it gets really dramatic at times.
But we have that game vice city,I haven't bought the san andreas....I aint paying 50 bucks for a game,I'll wait till it comes down,But everybody in my house plays it,my son was 5 when he first played it.

I understand the violence and all,but what about the three stooges,we all watched that growing up,and I knew better than to hit someone in the face with an iron,or grip someones nose with a pair of scissors.Alot of games are violent,You mostly are always killing something.or shooting something.We teach our kids to know that those things we see on TV all though may sound cool or look great,can hurt people,and peoples feelings.Kids know.

And complete with advanced CGI showing blood,guts,skull. and brains being blown away in the background. Add it it all, while all thats bad enough, the fact that kids todays are being bombarded no-stop by this shit. Personaly when I was 11yo I'd be lucky to have one hour a school day to watch T.V. Every other second was taken up by constructive activity. I'd be up at 0330 to go throw newspapers. After which I was an altar boy 6 days a week. I'd serve mass at 0700 and after that would be school. After school there was practice for some kind of sports, and after that was homework. I'd be in bed by 8 pm.

Nowdays the onslaught of sex and violence on kids is non-stop. You cant even watch the super bowl with your kid anymore. If it aint the gansta pieces of shit players, its the networks spewing tits and ass to sell air time. TV,computers,Ads,news....its non-stop.

And worst of the worse are these disgusting piece of shit computer games. I play computer golf "quite good at it" and flight games so there is some good entertainment with them. But these GTA type games? Its the entertainment industry at its worst. And thats saying a lot because they are one big pile of commie-bombthrowing-flagburning horseshit to begin with................................Rich

I've always played and let my kids play violent games. I cut my teeth on Doom, you guys are just beginners. But for most of them you're the good guy killing the bad guys. Thats true I do agree with you about how times were diffrent....We used to watch looney tunes and the wouldn't even say the word hell.Now you got south park.Me and my brothers and sister all had chores to do.Life was diffrent but now things are becoming diffrent,laws are changing,the way of life is changing.I never heard the type of talk shows on the radio back then like they have now.Things are being accepted as normal.What happens outside your home maybe hard to controll but you do have controll in your home.
Itisn't just the games though.TV,Radio...Kids go to school we got new styles.Kids with cell phones,pagers.Both parents work,iit's hard to keep an eye on your kid.But that is what the world is going for,Everyone wants "their rights"

Ive tought my kid my boxing skills and if anyone ever picks on him, or if he ever sees any boy hitting a girl, he has my permision to beat the living shit out of him. I believe boys should be raised to be warriors.

GTA is not ALL about sex and violence. You can steal cars and beat people without killing them and drawing blood.

There is a distinct reason that military training uses human shaped targets to shoot at...

A study was conducted on soldiers who fought in WWII and Korea. It was determined that approximately 76% of combart arms soldiers hesitated on the trigger when confronted with a human target for the first time. After Korea, the military began to train using human shaped targets. Soldiers bagan training and becoming proficient at aiming at, and shooting, a human target without hesitation. This proved to be effective as the number of hesitant shooters dropped to less than 10% in Vietnam. To this day the military continues to use this approach in training and conditioning soldiers to kill other human beings. Now, where am I going with this...??

My point is, Violent games and/or training can desensitize us to violent actions. Now, am I saying that video games cause kids to kill people? Certainly not. But, it can be argued that a kid who has been beating civillians with bats and shooting cops on GTA for the past 6 months is probably more likely to show violent behavior and/or pull the trigger on a real cop as opposed to the kid who plays pokemon all day.
