    Vacation Ideas

OK looking for a little help.

My wife and I are trying to plan a vacation in Feb or March. We will be taking our 1 year old with us, so it needs to be kid friendly. My wife has the idea of the Disney Cruise, which is kinda cool, but I am not really sold.

    Any Ideas?

PS. Somewhere warm. none of this skiing shit. I live in Canada and deal with the cold enough

How about Sedona Arizona? There is this one realy nice hotel (wich I can't figure out the name right now) that has kitchens in the hotell rooms (there are pots and pans too. ). And, you you can take a helicopter ride around some of Sedona's canyons.

I'll leave you more information as soon as I retreive it.

Hell, I don't have kids and I would go on a Disney Cruise.

San Diego is also nice. There's the zoo, SeaWorld, and Legoland for the kids. There's also plenty of beaches, the Gaslamp, Corondo Island, good restaurants....Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Ocean Beach, Old Town, etc. Constant 70 degrees year round too.

Sedona is beautiful, but not really for young children. It's more resort like or lots of hiking/sight seeing of red rock and mountain formations. A one year old would get fussy and bored.

Yeah been to San Deigo Before. Arizona would be awesome from what I have seen in photos, but as Aggie stated wouldn't help with a 1 yo

Only thing holding me back on the Disney cruise is price. Since we are planning late, we didn't really prep to spend 5-6k. And I am a stickiler with money

Well instead of the cruise, how about Disneyland in Anaheim or Disney World in Orlando?

Btw, not really for kids, but I love Phoenix/Tempe.

I really don't have any personal investment in this suggestion. Maybe you should give Arlington, VA a go! Hey, you guys could stay with Lisa and I. There's a space under my desk we could fix up for the Baby, and I could clear 2 spaces on the floor for you and your wife. Now, I would need to you cook the meals and clean up the apartment though, but you wife can do that with Lisa and you and I'll go to the gym and get drunk. (Yes, get drunk AT the gym!) What do you say?!?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

It sure is friendly to ME.

IainDaniel, your kid's one freakin' year old. What the hell is he gonna remember? Do what you and your wife want to do. You're gonna be dragging him eveywhere anyway, might as well have fun while you're doing it.

I was about to post the same thing, cause for the next 17 years it's gonna be "Hurry up and entertain me or I'll destroy every feeling of joy you've ever known." Haven't you watched any of the National Lampoons Vacations?

Damn, I forgot all about Vegas! Gotta give it a as well. HOWEVER, if your wife is anything like my wife and she has her heart set on a Disney Cruise, there ain't gonna be much peace if she doesn't get it.

    Good luck!

Way to go ruin the whole thought of having a vacation

Actually you are right, wtf would I do on a vacation other than cater to my son, sounds like a waste money with no enjoyment. Well this sucks.

A buddy of mine invited my family to his Condo in Sarasota. But that won't fly again cause I will want to go out play a few rounds of golf and do guy things. And there is no way I could leave the wife and the ladies to be having to deal with that (I don't mean to sound like this about Kyle it is just reality setting in) I would hear all week and months on end about it.

    This sucks arrrgggghhh

I would get a baby sitter (grandparents?) for a few day's, then go get a hotel room downtown, enjoy a couple of nights on the town, then go on a shorter vacation with the kid.

WOAH, slow down there Ace. I didn't say ANYTHING about scrapping the vacation. My point is, don't plan it around your kid. He's too young to remember the difference between Mickey Mouse and a Playboy bunny, so do what YOU want to do.

P.S. If you decide on Vegas give me a call. I'll hook you up with the best Eagles bar in town.

I just spent four days in Vegas. It's changed a lot in the last nine years. The average house appreciates at 10% per year. The house that my sister-in-law built 11 years ago for about $300,000 in now worth over a million dollars!

Plus, the city now reaches all the way over to Boulder.

But yeah, there are plenty of fun things to do there. Plenty of gambling and live shows. If you're into nature, go visit the Valley of Fire.

You came to Vegas and didn't call me? Sheesh, where's the love?

What's your sister do for a living? I need a job.
