As much as I hate to agree with Prince, I'm gonna have to in this case. Yes, steroids and HGH and whatever other chemical modern medicine can come up with to make the human body bigger is all well and good. But when you start getting into the upper echelons of pro body building, genetics is still the deciding factor. There are a minute amount of people in the world with good enough genetics that will allow steroids to get them THAT built. In other words sure, everybody can get big on steroids, but only a select few, who are blessed with superior genetics, will get THAT big and look THAT good. PeeWee Herman can take every ounce of juice on the planet and he will still not be able to compete with Ronnie.
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

    ditto...

for instance if you have short muscle bellies and long tendons all the gear in the world couldn't make you a heavy weight IFBB pro

genetics is a handful of things...it's stress tolerance, length of muscles / tendons, height, bone structure, etcetera.

Despite the fact that old Dorian looks like a skinny dork with crap genetics, apparently he had enough of the above prerequisite traits to be one of the most succesful competitors ever. Guys who have all of the things above are just lucky. What's funny is I have friends who are bigger than he is in that picture that I assume have poor genetics for getting big

I see what your saying.. but I dont know what the fuck the deal is with that

Maybe he got big.. joined some skinhead gang, stopped working out, got tats.. and became small?

Thanks ALBOB. That clears that up.

In the top picture he's obviously not in competition shape, therefore he has more size. They all lose some size when they diet down for a comp.

Looking at his shoulders, biceps and chest you can see that even as a scrawny punker scag he had a certain body shape that when pumped would come out as it did, steroids didn't make the form they just made it bigger.

Perhaps I'm straying here, but I don't think just anyone has the dedication is takes to build the bodies that you see at Mr. O.

It's not as if all the need to do is inject and work out every now and then. They pour their lives into it. Everything else, including most worldly pleasures, fall be the wayside. How many people would do that?

    Very few, I think.

    Completely agreed.

But i think if you took all the natural people in the world who ARE as dedicated to BB, and had them abuse steroids for over a decade, they'd look preeeeeeeetty fuckin' big.

these pros abuse ridiculous amounts of steroids for years on end, not to mention they rarely ever come off anymore.
