Anyone own an I-pod?

I was thinking about buying one, and i was wondering you guys liked yours?

These thiings are freakin' sweet. I'm gonna buy the smaller one for like $250, i don't think i need 10,000 songs.

I think i also need a "belt clip" thingee, do i need anything else with it?

One question, alls you hafta do is put your cd's in your computer and move the songs onto the ipod program, right? And i guess you don't need an Apple computer, which is good news (i think)

anyways, lemme know what you guys think of yours, cuz the shitty Mp3 player i have now i've had for a year, and i havent been able to change the songs, so i wanna rip my hair out...

yeah i have had mine a year now. use it almost every day

you don't need an apple

if your using a pc you'll probably need the usb cable mine didn't come with one so had to buy it separately

what size are you getting? mine is 10gb its full now so i have to delete songs off it when i want to add new ones - kind of annoying

It is awesome. Got a 40GB for Christmas. Put all my music on it and still have about 30gb left, LOL. I bought the sports band for mine, like it better than the belt clip.

the mini ipod is really small which is nice if you use it while training but for $50 more you can get a lot more storage space. it's a trade off.

has anyone had the battery die and lose everything? i've heard you can't replace it - is that still true or are they now making replacements?

funny you say that.

2 mintues ago on the news i saw they've made "smaller" ones, if you will, that are cheaper.

one holds 120 songs (but i forgot the price), and the other holds about 240.

I think i'm gonna wait for these. They're cheaper, smaller, and besides, i'm not in the gym long enough to need 5,000 songs on my Mp3 player

one other little tidbit i've picked up - the ipod minis don't get surface scratches as easily (if you care)

I never bought the clip or band. I simply put my ipod in a sock, bought a pair shorts with pockets and put it in there. The clips and bands are quite expensive, the ipod is easily accessible, not many scratches, and isn't a hassle to have tied around your arm or waist.

I'd highly suggest it.

iPod=sweetness. I own mine for a year now and I take it with me everywhere I go. It's scratched and beaten to shit, but I love it and it hasn't failed me yet. A piece of advice; unless youre out to make a fashion statement , get a pair of good headphones. iPod headphones are crap. Personally, I use the Koss PortaPro's and they're great.

After the Nelach(sp?) brothers short film, Apple now provides support for a new battery. You do have to send the iPod in though..

Ipods are cool but the Battery issue is big enough that i wouldn't recommend anyone invest their money on one. Also They are over-priced for what they are able to do.
There are better alternatives .

i just read in an article that there are 2 mini's coming out.one holds 240songs and is $150, the other 120/$999

the only thing i didn't understand is it said they don't have a "display window". so how the hell do you pick your songs?

240 songs for $150? why not get 5000 songs for $299?

i havent had an issue with the battery on my ipod and i have yet to put a scratch on it in the 6 months i have had it.

my ipod did lock up on me 1 time and i couldnt get it to do shit. i called apple and they tried to help me fix it over the phone but it still wouldnt do anything. they had me send the ipod across the country to california (they paid for express shipping and it got there in less than 2 days) then they sent me a brand new ipod to replace the 1 i had (again only 2 days shipping) obviously i lost all the songs on my ipod but as soon as i plugged the new ipod into my pc, my pc automatically downloaded all the songs to my new ipod in a matter of minutes so i was happy about that.

apple has excellent customer service.

240 songs is plenty.

I don't even think i know 5,000. Especially considering i'm only putting metal on there...

Its still a rip off. You have to pay over $100 for battery replacement. I was going to buy one till I read that!

Me and my brother both have one. My battery has never given me problems, but about a week before his warranty was up, my brother's battery fucked up, so he went to an apple store and told a sales clerk he wanted a new one. The guy said he would have to mail it off and pay for a special box to mail it in and shit. My bro basically got in the guys face and told him to give him a new ipod and let the store mail his old one off. The guys manager came back and told us that if you bring it up at most Apple stores, if your IPOD breaks and is still under warranty, technically they can give you a new one right then as long as it doesn't have a personal engraving and the store will mail off your old one, but the only problem is that your new ipod's ID # won't match the one on your warranty, thus making it void.

You can get a FM Modulator installed in your car. I had one installed at the Good Guys for about $85. You simply switch it on and set it to a preset unused freq, and you're good to go. Don't buy the store packaged ones...I heard they are crap.
