    Shame on Ted Kennedy

"The U.S. military presence has become part of the problem, not part of the solution."

"Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management: U.S. management.

For a while there he was out to get Condoleezza Rice. My advice to her would have been, "don't get in the car with him".
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

On top of this, he does this (the first quote) 3 days before the election. Good way to give the terrorists motivation.

I hope his reputation never recovers. He should never have had one to begin with.

He exist solely on the family name. With out that pedigree he would have long ago been washed out. As it stands he is an embarrassment to our nations political structure.

Maybe you could come up with someone better to answer that Ann Coulter thread with than Ted? This guy really is inferior to her in any way you wanna stack it ... JMHO.

Hitlery poses a much greater threat to our nation then this windbag ever did ...

I agree but this guy is not even in the major leagues. I garr-on-tee that if he was not quoted by Rush or some of the other big boys he wouldn't have a fart's chance in a wind tunnel of being remembered. His remembrance would go something like this ... "TED Kennedy? ... I didn't know there was a TED. I only heard of John and Robert ... ". What I mean to say is that he is without action or effect ... he does nothing. He just talks his stupid Democrat smack and sits on his pickled arse.

    I don't follow Kennedy, but I know enough that I don't think he's exactly a moral compass.

However, the things that we did to Iraqui prisoners at Abu Ghraib (and also to some of the detainees at Guantanamo) are unconscionable acts and should never have happened in the first place.

When did we get license to torture? Just because we're the biggest and strongest doesn't mean we have to be the baddest, too.

There is always their approach.. sawing off heads & broadcasting it to the world.

..i am not in anyway condoning what was done. However, I don't think politely asking them questions will yield the answers WE NEED.

The fact that they are savages does not make what we did any less appalling.

"Look ma, I'm on candid camera...with a bunch of shit covered Iraquis!"

I'm not an appologist for prison abuse, but I am a reason-based philosopher.

I really can't believe people would compare a videotaped public beheading sent to a victims parents with naked terrorist prisoners being forced to stand in a pyramid.

    Which would you prefer?

What would you rather have smeared on you? Fake blood, God forbid, or Mustard Gas?

And to even argue along these lines, you must accept an implicit equality between captured prisoners of war and free countrymen under Saddam who were murdered ruthlessly.

Not to mention you must be totally blind and naive about the history of Saddam, and deaf to the wishes of the people who truly desire freedom.

I'm neither a democrat or a republican. I'm a young, highly educated free thinker, and yet, what makes me sick is young people and self-professed "liberals" (who don't even know what that means, have never had a truly progressive thought, and just want to be part of something that makes their heart beat since they are inherently boring and average) who are bent on turning this struggle into a "modern Vietnam," or even more atrocious, akin to a Hitlerian action.

What we are witnessing is the by-product of revisionist history, atrocious parenting, mis-guided media-driven public conscousness, and pop-feel-good psychology. We, as a country, have chosen to embrace mediocrity in our race to eliminate the concept of "elite," and now we're reaping our crop. WE as a country choose to become FAT, LAZY, UN-EDUCATED, and choose TELEVISION PROGRAMMING and idiot-ass radio ideologues posing as experts while we've allowed our libraries, schools, and homes go to waste.

I guess I'm not surprised, but I am saddened. Its what I predicted years ago, and it's happening now. Very, very sad. At least in the past people had the integrity to acknowledge they were 1: beaten, 2: wrong, 3: acting inappropriately; now these same people create new branches of pseudo-intellectualism to support their flawed philosophies.

It's all so stupid to me. Look at the best seller list-->1,000's of self help books and people are more f'd up than ever.

We live in a self-centered, ignorant, extremely pansy-ass culture. And to make matters worse, the loud voices seem to have no understanding of history. Ted Kennedy's fat, drunken, privleged, old-school ass has no business leading someone like me-->I excel 300% beyond him in probably any scorable medium, save drinking, lying, beating girlfriends, exercising nepotism in the worst manner, or bloating. I could give a fuck what he thinks.

I remember it. I remember it because my old man despised the Kennedy's and remember what he said at the dinner table when this happened, "He was drunk and fucking her"! Later evidence even suggested he killed her. someone even checked the phone calls coming from "out of" the clan home that AM and they were like 100+ . The clan worked quickly to hush things up, devise an "out" for Teddy, and to pay off the Kopechnes.

I get a laugh out of the CIA plots and what nots about Chappaquiddick Island. Especially when you reviews the historys of the Kennedy clan boys and their penchant for risky behavior. Everything from turning off a PT boats engines, to riding with a top down, fucking every slit they can see or smell, drinking binges, rape, flying aircraft they aren't qualified with, fucking under aged babysitters,ski-ing recklessly,murder................................t he list is endless. If there were ever poster boys of morons who thought they were above the law its this concoction of in-bred Irish hillmen.

And the Patriarch of all these various shitbags is Teddy his ownself. Even the Liberals and feminists cant stand him, but they do use him because he spouts their shared manifesto and reads the same little red book they do. I mean just look at how the "no-bra and makeup crowd" ganged up on Aaaaanold for his few gropes. Why haven't they hanged Teddy and his merry little band of douchebags for all his shit?

Its because Teddy has proved a useful idiot. Believe it or not there is a small ass cleft of this country that actually listens to what he has to say, thankfully very small. But it is traditional bomb throw'er country and the bra burners don't want to burn a bridge that can help elect the head dyke-ess to the whitehouse in 2008. So Teddy is coddled, and out on the stump rallying the beret wearing drones........................... ................Rich

I don't like Ted Kennedy or his politics but his statement is fairly accurate.

And, it was true almost 2 years ago, as well as today.

The Iraq campaign is far, far, from over.

Yea, and it's my fault. Thanks man. I consider it an honor to defend your right to spout your sensless rhetoric along side Ted Kennedy in the ongoing effort to undermine our mission.

Do you truly and honestly believe that the US is torturing people like Saddam did?

Do you believe that US soldiers pull people out of there homes and kill them at night because of something they said? That they put people in tubs of water and apply electricity? Or that they gas non-combatants on purpose?

    Really?
