Bad Base Jump ... REALLY bad

This is not for the weak of heart. Really. I had to turn off the audio ... ... it's of a base jumper with a head cam who has a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad jump.

Ebaums is a safe site ... so while you're there check out some other clips.

I'm a car freak so these were my fav's ...

Police catch this bad guy ...

This dude should have been a cop ...

Looks like a piece fell of ... hate it when that happens. See that's why I prefere wide open spaces and an airplane to be icluded on all my jumps. I'm kinda funny like that.

Curious, wonder what this guy was doing with a microphone and camera running? Some sort of Dam Inspector?
Regardless, that completely sucked!

I don't want to watch. I learned my lesson from the beheading video. But what actually happened to this poor guy and why was the audio so bad?

I can't watch that kind of thing either. I learned my lesson when i was young watching 'faces of death'. i puked after 5 minutes.

if it's fake, I have no problem... bloody/gorey movies etc.. if it's real, I have a hard time even hearing about it.

It truly upsets me to watch or hear others in pain. I have been this way since I was a child.

Its not fake. The guy base jumps off of a dam, and when his chute deploys.. the wind throws him against the dam. He then proceded to fall down the side of it to the ground. The chute slowed him down a bit, but he did hit hard. Then he proceeds to moan and flail about.

From what I could find at another site:
His name is Rene Brugging and he is Dutch. He is an experienced base jumper with about 500 jumps. He survived this with multiple fractures (nose, shoulder, back, ellbow, and foot). There were two other jumpers with him, it took them an hour to get him to hospital. The location is a dam in Switzerland, about 180 m high. Rene jumped again only 2 months after this accident... There is a longer version of this video available at http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/...n=file&id=1897

Completely. I fish behind dams. The wind rolls in very odd ways as it moves over the river and out from over the dam. Common sense would preclude base jumping from a dam. I didn't expect that clip to be so rough and was stunned at the poor fellows misery. The audio was great in quality ... but the person's agony was more than I could take in. I leaned back in my chair ... covered my mouth ... and watched the rest in silence.

I added the other clips to offset the shock of the first.

That guy in the mustang had some crazy good skills. He was on the wrong side of the badge. As a cop he coulda done that for a living.
