The guys got a point. I'm original from Wichita Falls Tx. and used to drive the 20 miles across the red river to Randolet Ok. to watch these fights. My Cousin who has severe MD used to raise game roosters and fight them. I guess for people that grow up in that atmosphere its just another activity but coming from someone whos family benefitted from the sport greatly, the ban was welcome. My Cousin now raises them and sells them and can get anywhere from $250 to $500 a bird. When we condition them to fight we use the muffs that the senator is talking about, and a rooster can get knocked out just like a human. Im shittin you not, If those little bastards fly up and hit you, they hurt. I cant remember the number of times I've went into a fly pen and got the shit beat out of me by one. The only thing OK has for revenue is a couple of Indian reservation Casinos so Why not make a sport out of this if the birds dont get killed. Its amazing seeing these animals do what they would in the wild, and would generate a ridiculous amount of money for the state.
Another thing, If we can watch people beat the shit out of eachother, we might as well be able to watch birds do it. I mean its natural for them, anytime you get them in site of each other their feather start to ruffle. You can set 2 down 50 yards apart and they will walk sideways to meet eachother. Its really an amazing thin to watch, especially if they dont get killed.
