Much of the hate and the bigotry we all see in the world has its origin with "religion" and "religious people". I wish I did not have to say that - but it is entirely true. History proves it over and over. Much of the misery in this world is directly connected to "religion" and "religious people" - not all, but FAR TOO OFTEN.

John, you are absolutely right, religion, the abstract thing is definitely persecuting you. You are correct, you are never wrong, your facts are extraordinary. Everybody else's facts are bullshit.
I will allow you John to continue blaming religion for your problems. I have nothing else to say to you about this, because as far as I know, you have not rebutted one of my historical facts, from the holy wars to religion being an abstract thing, a faith, a belief.

Please Don't off the deep end about this.

I appreciate your imput greatly. I never said 'just I' was affected by what religion has done but that the whole world and all its people have been - see the history of it all. I would not be able to say this if it were not true. "Religion" is a representation of the people that belong - the "institution" of those so belonging. As with anything there are good and there are bad. Nothing is exempt. But as a whole "religion" has not really done this world any good. Look at the history of it all. You will see that. Religion and politics have always been strange bedfellows.

People need to focus on God (or Whoever you - meaning anyone here - perceive Him to be and whatever name you identify Him as) - NOT "religion". It is the "religion" and the "religious beliefs" so many get mired down in and is so destructive. And to live - each person - their life as best as possible for the benefit of ALL people and make this a much better world for ALL people without all the hatred, bigotry, damning, etc.
