I don't like Jesus nor Mohammed, I mean Buddhists don't go around naming their kids Siddartha or Buddha and whens the last time you met someone named Jew or Jehovah?

Screw you. I think Christian Slater was cool in Kuffs.

On a side note, without the link, that would be one screwed up sentence.

Yup. You bet

And buddhists can hate. We're human just like everyone else. And just like christianity, we have all levels. From some that give it lip service just to seem "cool" to the truly devout. I fall in between in that I dont practice it as a religion, but more as a philisophy.

All the general hypocrisy, basicaly. That and there were just some things that were handled with "the bible is right because the bible is never wrong", which is just stupid in my humble opinion but everyone did it anyways. No real answers to things that people (like me) were really struggling with.... No leaders were ever wrong.... People being admonished for not having enough faith and having "a bad heart" when they had some tough questions.... All the judgement if you were not of like mind or the same branch of religion.... Everyone else is so wrong simply because they are a different religion or a different sect of the same religion.

I will never say that ALL christians are hypocrites, but I will say that I whole heartedly believe that 99.99999 % of them are. And they are the most judgemental and hateful people I have ever met. There was once a sig that someone on here had and it went something like "You dont believe in Jesus? You're going to hell, you godless piece of shit!!" Or something like that. But that about sums up my experiences with 99% of the christians I met.

This is MY opinion. No one should take what I say as me saying that this is the way every christian is this way. Im very certain that there are real believers out there and they are humble about it. Not holier than thou.

Well Im sure there's tons of info online but Im afraid I cant help you there. I practice a form of buddhism/bushido covered in a book called The Code of the Samurai. Its much more simple and I wont go to buddhist hell for having a different view from "real" buddhism, LOL. Its a very simple and straight forward read, only 98 pages. And everything makes sense. Perhaps that may help you.

There is hypocrisy in most things... and every form of religion will have it. I dare say that even your brand of Buddhism will have its hypocritical points, and you as a human will do hypocritical things.

Christianity is diverse, I'm not sure who you were tied up with, but it sounds like you didnt do too much searching within Christianity before jumping boat. Of course I cant blame you, being that I'm not a Christian

Well, you can say 100% of them... there isnt a human alive that isnt a hypocrite in some form or another. If you are a parent and you tell your children not to do something that you've done in your past, well that makes you a hypocrite. However, thats just a fact of life, and not something that a person particularily takes alot of joy in I think. Thats a funky sig, and I'd dare say that anybody with a sig like that isnt a true Christian. That'd be like somebody reading a few lines about Buddhism, then winging the rest and telling the world they are a Buddhist. Unfortunately, mainstream religion is in so many ways corrupted. Time and power tends to let that happen.

Certainly. I'm a little disturbed that you think 99.9999% are... and I get the feeling that you have had some bad experiences with Christianity. Regardless, I dont think its a good place to be when you hate a religion, it clouds the mind and keeps you from being able to find truth.

Hey, I'm a Christian, but I don't go for that Holier than thou crap either. I do not force my views or beliefs on anyone. If asked I explain what and why, but I would never judge someone else. If you are a Christian, you know that Judgement is reserved for GOD, not humans. Everyone is a hypocrite in one way or another. But I personally try to be the best person, husband and Daddy I can be.

Ok now we are getting just too deep and going off on a whole other tangent, no matter how related it may be, on a topic where I gave a quick synopsis. That is all. I certainly do not want to entertain or discusss every facet of this topic because to me it is pointless to do so. Thank you in advance for understanding.

I'd always thought that our personal beliefs were supposed to be a bit "deep".

You wrote three paragraphs lambasting 99.9999% of Christians and stated that you hate a specific religion. I figured with such a bold statement that you must have some reasons for doing so, specifically because you stated that your fall out with Christianity is at least in part due to the fact that they were close minded and had "No real answers to things that people (like me) were really struggling with". A person that makes a statement like that and then refuses to discuss it might lead people to think he is no closer to finding what he was looking for.
