What are you doing for your Valantine?

First of all Happy Valantines Day. So what are all of you doing for you significant other tomorrow? Also do you think its ok to give somthing to a girl who is just your friend to let her know you car about her or would that make her uncomfortable?

Dinner at her favorite resteraunt followed by a couple bottles of Spatlese by the fire place.

This is what I'm doing for my wife.

As far as you are concerned, Gifts at Valentines day have definate implications. Sure you can give her a gift to show "you care" but also understand that the gift may easily be interpreted as an advance.

I wrote her a poem. And I wrote her an instrumental song called "When I think of You". Its basicaly me playing everything that I feel when I think about her.

She also collects buddhas so I special ordered a set of green jade miniature buddhas for her. And Im spending all night by her side. Its not much, but its all from my heart.

Oh and I made her a rose out of white paper to go with that poem. A rose grown in the garden of my heart, brought forth by my own two hands. White, to symbolize the purity of what I feel for her.

I'm going to hint to her to dress up really nice, walk her to the car and tie a blind fold around her eyes. Then I'm going to drive her around for two hours and tease her with talk of fondu and cheese and chocolate dipped strawberries and such, and then when it's time to remove the blind fold we'll be at the drive through at the local mcdonalds down the street.

If she's lucky I'll even let her super size it

At the age of 17 hard to say, but a mature girl/woman yes that would be totally fine.

Hi Sweatshopchamp,

Happy Valentine's Day to you too.

I guess we will spend time together for sure - we like walking in the meadows and fields and just plain being with each other. We value our private time together.

Is it "ok" to give something to a girl who is just your friend"? Yes, it is FINE. It should't make her uncomfortable at all. There are many ways to express your feelings to another, giving them something is just one way.

BEING who you are is a truthful way to show someone you care about them.

My girlfriend came with an auto pilot feature so she gets her own gift and say's it's from me. Like yesterday we went to the Jewelry Box (which has been going out of business for the last 2 years) and I watched her buy a set of earrings to match the ring and pendant I "bought" her on some other occassion. But her being her goofy self went out after work yesterday and bought me a card and a stuffed lion with a heart for my valentines gift.
