Are you trying to imbed the song in the page?
I am trying to get a song to play on my myspace page, but only have it on my computer. I need it to be hosted, right? Where would one do such a thing?

I compress my stuff to 64kbit before I put it on my MySpaz.
So yes, it must be called from a remote source that allows such linking.
I pay $7.95 a month for 750meg/15 gig.

If you're willing to pay $20 per month, Interland Hosting it great. Plenty of space, SQL Server and mySQL, ASP, ASPX, PHP, and more. The tech support is pretty good to.
BTW Dale, if you need any help building your website, let me know.

I should be good for now. I am thinking a Willy Wonka theme and I have the music. I may want to add some graphics later and I know that may be a bit tough so I will hit you up when I evolve to that point.Originally Posted by cfs3

If all you're doing is hosting a handful of images and small soundclips, it makes no sense to pay for hosting when there are plenty of free options.
Now, if you anticipate a ton of visitors (=traffic=bandwidth), or host a lot of large files (live show recordings, etc.), than it makes sense to pay for hosting.
But it sounds like you're just talking about a background song for your webpage, and that's no reason to even spend $8 a month.

What it really comes down to is reliability. How import is it that the site be accessible 24/7?

Check and see if your ISP gave you some space to host homepages and store files there, thats what I do.

Right, if you use Comcast I know you get some
Honestly, if you're hosting a background song for a MySpace page, there is no reason to spend any money. Not disagreeing that reliability is important for anything critical, but in this case, why spend $20 or even $8 a month just to make sure everyone who visits the page hears the theme song to Willi Wonka. You could buy two albums worth of music monthly for that...or test a new supplement.
So, I uplaoded the image. now where do I find it/get the url for it. I am on the webshell page

I'm not sure that I understand your question.Originally Posted by Dale Mabry

The image is uploaded onto Angelfire, but I cannot get the url for the mp3. I am on some page called WebShell that shows the mp3, but it is in a menu and therefore right clicking it won't bring up properties so that I can get the URL. I moved it into a directory, but that still doesn't help. I assumed that I could just put my webpage name and then /(filename) but it didn't work.

You need to have it highligted in the webshell and the click view then play it in Internet Explorer and left click on the title and add to bookmarks then go to the bookmark right click on it and go to properties and copy the URL
