nice. he based his decision on the death of an idiot wrestler who basically killed himself. I wonder if the AD Michael Kovalchik has ever read a book or medical study in his life on sports supplements.

I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
That is ridiculous!! He bases his decision on the death of a kid who made stupid decisions, which occured in 1997?????

That article sucks. Sure, blame the creatine because the wrestler was a dumbass. Seems like a knee jerk reaction by the school to blame something besides the wrestler's stupid behavior.

"What up Mike?" "You know that water stuff? It's dangerous dude you should ban it due to a condition called Hyponatremia. It occurs when fluid intake - including sports drinks - exceeds fluid loss during exercise, throwing off the balance between the body's water and sodium levels. When the blood has too much water and too little sodium, brain cells absorb too much water and the brain swells, pushing against the skull. This condition can lead to nausea, fatigue and vomiting and in the most severe instances, seizures, coma and even death."![]()
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Why didn't he ban rubber suits, exercise bikes, heated rooms etc.?

dude i'm a wrestler and i lose 10 lbs a 10 day easy if i want but the retard weighed 160 he doesn't have that much fluid to pump around his body at that weight. its fine to cut weight just don't be retarded. He probably went into hypovolemic shock and died.
the last i heard the ncaa checks bf% and hydration levels of the wrestlers before weigh in- if either are too low they can't wrestle. if they did this it would stop a lot of poeple from drastically dehydrating themselves. I dont know how anyone could blame it on the creatine.
A couple of questions come to mind. If the ban went into effect in 1998, why are they starting to enforce it NOW? What happened lately to make these idiots decide to try and make this stick. Also, how do they plan to test for this? Lastly, the article states "Improper creatine use is connected to muscle cramps, heat intolerance, diarrhea and dehydration that may contribute to more serious problems such as muscle tears, heat stroke, or kidney and liver strain. There is, however, little conclusive evidence. " Where the hell did THIS bullshit come from? What a load of crap![]()
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

I bet those college kids are binging like fools on some good ol' beer every night, talk about your dehydrating beverages that's number one.

Ok, heres the list of bad side effects as listred by the article-
Thats right! IMPROPER use can do all of that! Multivitamins ARE next! They have iron in them, if you were to take them improperly and eat bottles of them at a time, You could have too much iron and die.Improper creatine use is connected to muscle cramps, heat intolerance, diarrhea and dehydration that may contribute to more serious problems such as muscle tears, heat stroke, or kidney and liver strain. Or choke!!
Not that my last post even touches this reasoning..
To my understanding he had alos been drinking water, he might have had some gatorade too.. Maybe bread, chicken.. Hang on, someone get a sheet of paper well start a list.Wearing a rubber suit and a stocking hat in a room set at 92 degrees, Reese rode a stationary bike for two hours before he collapsed. Like many wrestlers, football players and other athletes, Reese had been taking creatine, and his death raised doubts about the supplement's safety.

And as I posted that all important part of which we are 70% of H20 aka. Water can kill you in excess too. When the blood has too much water and too little sodium, brain cells absorb too much water and the brain swells, pushing against the skull. This condition can lead to nausea, fatigue and vomiting and in the most severe instances, seizures, coma and even death."Originally Posted by Chain Link

Ncaa probably does it, but usally for college (div 3(unless its a private school?)) they check your bf and hydrations at the begining of the season tell you what you can cut to with diet and before state or a major match they make you weigh in hydrated. But how they check hydration is they give you a cup and make you pee in it. well guys who are on the team that didn't make it to state pee for them and they still cut. there are ways around it.Originally Posted by Dante
