yeah ive had it loads of times ill think hang on i havent seen that film in ages stick it on and watch it, next day my parents will be telling me it was on tv as well, that happens frequently lol and everytime i think about something i havent heard of or thought about in ages someone else will suddenly bring it up. what i think it is, is that once youve thought of it again you are more on the look out and you may have seen some of it advertised somewhere and not taken it in, advertising is power full, bloke on tv cant remember his name exploits it, it think its darren brown he played live russian rullet, and he can predict what you do by what things youve seen and very very good logic

The term déjà vu is French and means, literally, "already seen." Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn't be familiar at all. Say, for example, you are traveling to England for the first time. You are touring a cathedral, and suddenly it seems as if you have been in that very spot before. Or maybe you are having dinner with a group of friends, discussing some current political topic, and you have the feeling that you've already experienced this very thing -- same friends, same dinner, same topic.

The phenomenon is rather complex, and there are many different theories as to why déjà vu happens. Swiss scholar Arthur Funkhouser suggests that there are several "déjà experiences" and asserts that in order to better study the phenomenon, the nuances between the experiences need to be noted. In the examples mentioned above, Funkhouser would describe the first incidence as déjà visité ("already visited") and the second as déjà vecu ("already experienced or lived through").

As much as 70 percent of the population reports having experienced some form of déjà vu. A higher number of incidents occurs in people 15 to 25 years old than in any other age group.

Déjà vu has been firmly associated with temporal-lobe epilepsy. Reportedly, déjà vu can occur just prior to a temporal-lobe epileptic attack. People suffering an epileptic seizure of this kind can experience déjà vu during the actual seizure activity or in the moments between convulsions.

Since déjà vu occurs in individuals with and without a medical condition, there is much speculation as to how and why this phenomenon happens. Several psychoanalysts attribute déjà vu to simple fantasy or wish fulfillment, while some psychiatrists ascribe it to a mismatching in the brain that causes the brain to mistake the present for the past. Many parapsychologists believe it is related to a past-life experience. Obviously, there is more investigation to be done.

Yeah, I get that a lot. I think of something and someone goes ahead and mentions it. It is so damn weird. I call it "leaking brain". Remember that doll of Mono that dropped from his avatar to his signature? I was building one. That happened more than 5 times with Manic too. His bot thread today is a good example, I was using this argument for another thing. Anyway..

I don't know what the fuck is going on, but i get deja vu ALL the time now. I'm not even sure if its deja vu. What happens is i'll hear/speak of something that i havent heard/spoken of in a LONG time. Then "it" pops up just a little while later.

For instance....Last night i watched Chappelle's DVD of Tyrone Biggums for the first time EVER. This dvd has been sitting on my shelf for like 9mo., and i havent watched it. So i watch Tyrone, and laugh my ass off. Then just now, Vieope sends me a pm that describes taht EXACT part where he upgrades to acid.

Another example was today when i was on my way to buy my pre wo double espresso. The whole time i was thinking about lines from Goodfellas. I dont know why. Wouldn't you know, when i got home, my father is WATCHING it on tv.

I don't know if its cuz i'm like more on the look out for it or what, but WHAT is going on? Does this shit happen to you guys?

I gotta stop having them put Payote in my espresso!
