I would think that flirting amongst friends is pretty normal practice. I know from a guys POV if he is friends with a chick, 99% of the time its b/c he finds her attractive and therefore wants to see her naked, so of course guys flirt with their female friends, generally speaking of course. Maybe not the case fro females, but pretty much all of my females friends flirt.. my two cents

Ya, all the time...I have to add that most of my male friends are gay, so flirting with each other comes as naturaly as breathing!! And most of my female friends are straight, for some reason, they love to flirt with me,!! I think its only because they cant do it with guys as most will "jump" on the occasion if flirting occurs, and they know Im married...

Yes, it happens with some regularity. It is interesting that at the moment you realize a friend is flirting with you, you then see that person in a completely different light. Years ago I flirted back with a guy at my gym because I wanted a free Ecstasy pill....which I got.
